Aloha,
Just wanted to show some pics of my 208 Custom steering replacement. It opened up a lot of room also I added an Arrigone pedestal extension to see over the windshield.
Aloha ,

Lite Tackle LOL! yes you do Haha I didn't like the steering wheel that came with the boat . I like to hold on to the spokes and the original had sharp edges .

Nice work. I wish you had posted a before pic....

At first I was wondering what you were talking about because it's a new boat and your mod looks factory. Then I saw the black cover plate and realized you moved the wheel to where the compass was.

Great idea and well executed. Love it!

Nicely done! Certainly gives a little room which is needed at the 208 helm. Where did you move the compass? Notice any changes in the 2020 208 from previous years? I am still happily married to my 2006 208 with no divorce in site.

Great Mod! I may have to look into that. I also have a standing platform on my 208, my vision is right at the top of the window when underway. I am also trying out a foam standing mat on my platform - so far so good on 3 months of use.

What Island are you on and how does that 208 perform on Hawaiian waters?

Im on Oahu and fish on the windward side which is 90% rough water. Boat rides like a dream , just wish they made more space to fit a bigger cooler in the cockpit.

I replaced the compass with a in dash Richie which is next to my GPS. You can barely see it because the picture of the dash where my GPS is kinda dark.

Took some planning and gumption to do it. Kudos.
