Is there a bang plate on a 228?

No there's not. It's a piece of trim along bottom edge of the motorwell on the 226 and others, that over time, will allow water intrusion into the transom if not properly maintained and resealed.


Great work on refinishing the trim. Looks like it turned out very nice.

Is there a bang plate on a 228?

No, the xx8 models are Grady Drive (bracket). The xx6 models would have a standard notched transom with the bang plate (metal channel across the top of the horizontal plane where the motor sits).
