24 offshore cabin cushion replacement

We are planning to fully replace the cushions. Any suggestions on best material for the covers as well as the foam? Would like to upgrade the foam as we will be sleeping in there.....Thanks.

Did the same thing on mine. I went to vinyl as it's easy to keep clean, as opposed to a cloth. I increased the thickness of the foam to 4" and went with a medium density foam. My hips don't "bottom out" on the foam - but it's not too firm, either.

We went with sunbrella fabric, and all new cushions. 4' Thick and a medium/hard density. Wife and I love them, daughter finds it a bit too dense, so we add an eggcrate foam on top of the mid berth for her.

Not cheap.

Sunbrella is what we used when recovering the cabin cushions.

Sorry about all the clutter. I re-covered my existing foam with a SailRite Covington Riad Denim 58" Fabric. Also did backrests. This fabric has a soft hand, durable and easy to sew. It's not cold like vinyl. I used a SailRite machine which is medium duty - you could likely use a decent home machine - order a yard to test. And if you want to up the cushion thickness - have at it!

I have zero idea. I used my checkbook. I'd check with sailrite, or sunbrella's website, my guess is that a commercial machine will make the job a lot less stressful.
