Is everyone else getting a ridiculous amount of ads trying to scroll through posts now?

Hey! There is a sticky thread on the Ads from Google :).

This post that talks about the ads. If you donate $10 or more to the site via PayPal, the moderators will make sure you don't see all of the ads. Well worth the $10 imo, for a multitude of different reasons.

Management should really reconsider the ads thing. I've never seen a forum with such aggressive ads. Sometimes it's hard to see where the threads are. If I was a new person looking for a Grady forum and this popped up I'd leave immediately. Wall to wall ads with little breaks in the middle for content. It's out of control.

I totally agree. I’ve been on his 2007 and I’ve never seen anything like this. I thought it was my phone and that’s why I asked. Get paid to run ads and then get paid to make ads go away. I rarely come on here anymore because the ads are so aggressive.

Yep. I don't have a problem with ads, but whatever setting has been applied to this forum needs to be dialed back. I have literally never seen a forum so flooded with huge-format ads.

They are definitely quite aggressive and the website when using my computer was almost unusable before because there were so many ads popping up and moving all over the place. I didn't mind paying the $10 because it goes towards a good cause, but sometimes I'll check the site on my phone while at work and yes, it can be a bit ridiculous when not signed on.

Agreed I am getting more and more annoyed by this. Though my phone might have gotten hacked or something.....

The ad's are why I haven't been on here in a while. You try to look at a question and you accidentally enter into a popular ad

It seems that forums such as ours are gradually losing readership and membership due to the aggressiveness of the ads. Some are worse than others, but it is ultimately going to kill this form of communication. IMHO The eavesdropping going on is out of hand also. My wife and I were in our car yesterday and she was having a problem with her watch band. I told her, she should find one she likes and we will get it. This morning when she turned on her IPad , there were ads for watches and watch bands. Our phones were in the car the day before but they were off like in hibernation, but evidently they are always listening. I hate that but don't know how to fight it.
