Bow pulpit on 268 islander Repair or replace

Does anyone have any experience in the repair or replacement of a bow pulpit on a Grady white 268 or similar ? I attempted to repair the glass but it seems to be delaminated and is not holding up it will be a real hassle to get the bow pulpit off but if I only intend to do it wants any advice or pointers would be appreciated if the recommendation is to replace with new would anyone happen to know the part number and or the best sourcing channel Either with factory original or aftermarket thank you in advance

While I'm not overly familiar with your particular pulpit, I am familiar with fiberglassing. I "assume" your pulpit has a wood core - hence the delamination you're speaking of. The main reason for the delam is going to be water intrusion (wet/rotten). There are any numbers of ways to build a new one, but if it was me I would seriously consider just rebuilding it as it really shouldn't be all that hard if you're handy. Remove it from the boat, skin the bottom side, dig out the old core, replace with new, glass the bottom skin back on.

It appears to be two different colors? Why? What is it that is chipping away... gelcoat... something else you applied? Need more info.

There appears to be some delamination on the bottom edge.

Pull the hardware/bolts and check the condition of the core.

I can tell you that the core on our pulpit is a hard, dense foam. I first encountered it years ago when installing the first windlass.

When I made the conversion to thru-pulpit anchor roller last year I cut through, then cut back the foam so I could glass the inside of the hole. Did it more for support than anything else.
