The screws fixing my canyon 271 windshield are loose, (spinning without purchase) resulting in loud annoying squeaking of the glass / fiberglass interface.

Any suggestions on how to access back of these screws or address?

Thanks!

Try to get behind it to install new screws with washers and nuts.

You could also go to a larger oval hard screw with finish washers and may a grommet behind it. Make sure you bed the screws is something like 3M4000. If not bedded screws work loose and "saw" away at the hole. Eventually you get to where you are now.

Can you get a screw out?
You need to confirm that the frame attached with screws as opposed to bolts and nuts. If screws and they are spinning, there are several reasons: The screw is snapped off, The screw corroded and is too thin, the hole is too wide.( most probably if you have screws. In this case it is possible that the fiberglass is rotten, In that case the windshield should be removed to make repairs.
If you have nuts and bolts, the nuts could have come loose but that is more likely a result of structural issues with the fiberglass, If you have nuts and you can get to them, for sure try tightening. Do not use sealant or adhesive yet. You may end up needing to remove the frame.
In the less likely event that the screws themselves corroded and rusted perhaps, you will need to insure that the fiberglass is structurally sound for new screws and you should re-bed the frame which generally means it has to come off to apply sealant.

Brand new (2025) so I don't suspect material failure. Think screws maybe just were over tightened possibly and now spin.

OK. So what have you found...

As Seasick said do the screws come out or are the captive? Can you get behind it to see if they are thru bolted? It's not material failure it's loose screws. Now you need to figure out why and repair properly.

That boat should be under warranty. The dealer and GW are of no help?

I didn't realize this was a new boat. Forget what I said and contact the dealer

I had a similar issue with my new 2017 257 Fisherman. I believe this was the first year with the integrated T-top/windshield. The screws (not bolts/nuts) would loosen, leading to a loud squeaking when underway. The dealer's response was to increase the rubber molding around the top of the glass where it engaged with the T-top and spacers where it engaged the frame. The dealer did this repeatedly every year and it would work for a while, but would loosen over time. I emailed Grady and they sent out all new screws/grommets to me and I replaced all the screws. In my case, there was an evident gap at the top between the windshield and T-top and I think this was the issue for me and couldn't be remedied with spacers/molding and new screws. Last year the windshield significantly cracked when out in some rough water. I ended up replacing the windshield this past winter and so far no issues. I believe the new windshield conforms to the T-top a lot better so hoping this solves the issue. With that said, I have noticed that newer models have a different way the windshield integrates with the T-top, so this may not be the same issue you are dealing with.
