This is a bit overdue, but back in early October I had the Fell Marine kill switch installed. I was able to get a test run with it before putting the boat away for the season. it worked as advertised, and gave me no issues. it synched and never "accidentally" killed the engines while under way. to test it, i walked up the dock with the engines idling and i needed to be about 20 ft past the front of my boat for it to kill the engines. This is good because i was concerned that it may cut off if im up front messing with the anchor. i have the wrist band to put the fob into. my only gripe is how hard you have to push the button on the fob (through the wristband) to initiate the sync. overall i am pretty happy.

looking at how simple the install was, i could have very easily done it myself, but i got a very fair install price and the guy came to my house. it was also an "audition" to see if he was going to become my marine electrician for some more involved jobs.

overall i am very pleased with it and really like the product and its operation. its a great concept. ill try to remember to update this once i get back in the water in the spring

I have mine from June 2025 and it worked flawless.
Had to change one battery, no other problems and does not kill the engines when i move to the bow.
I ditched the wristband as i find the close system annoying and use the neckband instead what works better for me.
Definitively a enjoyable and new feeling of freedom to get rid of being tethered and great for solo fishing, trolling in particular.

However, keep in mind that if one falls over board at 7 knots and stiff wind he will most likely never reach the drifting away boat.

There are some users complaining that the HUB is degrading quickly by sunlight, so i suggest to use a cap for it.

There is a additional antenna to mount on dashboard if engines get killed if walking to the bow, kill distance depend on how crowded and shielded the position of the HUB is.

Some DIY experience is needed as you need to use a hole saw to drill the hole for the HUB and you need to unplug/cut the cable from the existing kill switch and connect it to the colour coded cables coming from the MOB+.
You get a sheet with good explanation how to connect it, but installation difficulty depends also on your existing cables, how they are fixed and on your outboards.

I used bullte quick connectors on the old kill switch cable and the new one ofrom the MOB+ to be able to switch back to the lanyard kill switch if the MOB+ should not be able to unblock the engines.
Probably not necessary but i feel better having this option.

Mine works ok, but I can't trust it when going to the bow as sometimes it will shut down the engines. Even with the external extended antenna option.
I have been at the transom fishing before with it in my pocket and it shut down the engines when trolling for some reason. So now, it sits on the helm and only will wear it in rough conditions or risky areas.

If those things work on a Wi-Fi system, there are little fob-like little signal boosters that are used all the time to make back-up cameras on the back of a towed RV send a stronger signal to the tow rig. Maybe that would solve your intermittent problem. They are just a little "dongle-like" thing.

Not really sure how they connect. Fell marine did not offer up anything more than their external antenna. I also read that interference from the motors can cause them to disconnect.

I have the ACR version and I have no problems with it. I can even be on the dock. Shuts off engines when I walk away. Only problem I've had was wristband in my back pocket and sat on the power button.

I have no problems even if no external antenna and HUB is between the two 8412 on the dashboard.
First guess is that either FOB or HUB is not working correctly, the FOB is more likely, have you tried to replace it.

Have you discussed your problem with Fell Marine?

Looked back at Skunks old post. Since then I was told that if I cut any wires at the key/kill switch module it would void the warranty. So it still sits on the bench.
