I recently purchased a 2024 Freedom 215 after owning a Grady Voyager 24 which we slept on a few times. I was wondering if anyone has overnighted on 215 Freedom and what accommodations (side eisenglass, aft curtain, sleeping bags, yoga mats) were made. If yes, how did it turn out? Thanks, Lew

ok i gonna ask no one else is, WHY, a 2024 Freedom i am sure wasn't cheap why did you down size to a Freedom and decide you want to sleep on it.
Throw an air mattress on the deck and enjoy, just a little odd to me.

I admittedly have no knowledge or experience with the boat model in question but per the Grady White website... if yours has the sun platform insert with the cushion, you could use that and sleep up in the bow of the boat. I imagine that is likely going to be one of your better options.

Under the Stars! Maybe I can rig a portable tp enclosure a over the bow seats?

Absolutely - go for it!

I've done it on a 21' Sea Ray which is basically the same thing for what we're talking about.

We folded the back-to-back seats down to sleep on - not too bad. Granted, we were in our early 20's at the time so back issues weren't, well, an issue! We just snapped the cockpit cover over us for the night.

A camping mattress for the floor would be good.

A friend of mine overnighted on their 24' Sea Ray bowrider many, many times. They had a "pop-up tent" made that snapped to the bow cover snaps. They were younger at the time, too. They are now in a 50' Sea Ray

Fathers Day….Why good question…..I owned a 1997 24 ft GW Voyager for 14 years ..As I am not a Do it yourselfer all work had been done by local boat vendors…two years ago the local vendor said he would no longer service the 1997 ox 66 ..( he gave me 18 mo notice) I looked around for other shops, yards, no one was very interested. I spent five or six months researching and trying to figure out whether to repower and decided against. I finally found a one person shop who would service the engine. I launched the Voyager about this time last year and made two short harbor tours. The third time the ox 66 quit. I called the service guys and they said they would look at it but it might be a few weeks as they were very busy launching boats.. I suggested to my wife that we close the boating chapter in our life ( we are senior, senior citizens) She said “I don’t want to live by the water and not have access to it) I wasn’t totally surprised and said I knew I married the right person(we have been married over50 yrs) She said find another boat….Not being handy, and not wanting fix it problems, I started relooking at new boats…a new 23 Gulfstream was almost 200k , the 218 cuddly was about 150 and the freedom was around 125. In as much as the we slept on the boat maybe 7;times in fourteen years this was not a big consideration in purchasing…the Freedom was less money(but more than all the4 small used boats I had purchased before) and had quite a bit more useable space. We went with the Freedom 21 launched new last Jun15 and launched May 3rd this year. Love the boat so far and just trying to see if I could manage a “ sleepover” on her. Am I still odd ? PS… I think I found a bow boat tent on line that would work. The Admiral sayid yes!

If your 215 has a Bimini top that comes with a dodger from the windshield to the Bimini and side curtains. I believe the rear curtain is available as an option which would fully enclose the cockpit. If you put up the companionway curtain that seals from the bottom of the windshield to the floor.
The patented Grady lounge on the port side of most/all 215’s isn’t the back to back folding type that folds flat. The back rest moves fore and aft so not conducive to laying flat. If that back rest can be removed that may make a decent place to lay down.
Still need to address the major problem with overnighting on the boat - mosquito's:p
