I am thinking of getting a 50 gallon fuel bladder for my 282 sailfish. I saw a guy with a whaler do this, anyone else have ideas

I didn't think about putting one up there. Out of the way. Weight forward and should gravity feed to the fuel tanks.

this will work, I know people who have done it but I prefer not to have 50 gallons of gas up on my bow. lots of info in the other thread posted above. i prefer to burn teh fuel on teh way as you will see in the other thread

Good thread , right now I was bringing two 6 gallon K2 gas jugs and topping off at the inlet, I could add 2 more as a reserve when at the grounds

your 282 has one 207 gl tank? you run out of barnegat or little egg or absecon or south of there? those inlets to the edge are 86miles
how far from dock to inlet? no wake or running?

Check around for a 24 hr credit card fuel dock. There is one by me up in Manasquan river that guys use at night after burning gas to get thru the bay and canal

talking statute miles here not nautical...
your new zukes hopefully get 1.5 cruise. 300 mile range

Do some runs, work your way out in steps(bft will be only 30-70 miles), get a positive sense of range. maybe take some cans on the first canyon trip.
I'm guessing you won't need the bladder.

and remember...you won't run out of gas at the canyon, you'll run out 5 miles short of the inlet and TowBoat/US will bring you gas....
