Greetings-

Im the proud owner of a new-to-me 2021 Seafarer, purchased from a gentleman in NJ who kept her in pristine condition.

Had a blast on our maiden voyage out to Catalina Island yesterday. Boat handles chop very well for its size when properly trimmed. 2-3 ft short head sea motor trimmed in with a little tab to level works great. Conversely, she prefers motor trimmed out in following sea with slight tab manipulation to level. My first mate fishes a 25 SeaPro cuddy (actually slipped next to mine) loved her layout and handling in big water and choppy seas.

Docking and mooring takes some finesse as other have commented, but takes nothing away in my view from all her positive attributes.

Here’s a few pics. Glad to be part of the Grady gang!

Congratulations on your 228. You’ll definitely enjoy it and the ride is incredible for that size Boat.

A couple of years ago I flew out to Maryland, bought my 2004 GW 228 Seafarer, rented a U-Haul truck and trailered her back the 3,009 miles to Seattle where I live. I love pretty much everything about the boat and don't have any plans to sell her anytime soon. Grady's are usually about half the price, sometimes even less on the east coast, and I'm assuming that's why you bought it out there as well.
