New to me 265 Express

New member, new boat. Moved up from an '84 Wellcraft V20 that I ran for 18 years.

I wanted to go bigger. Really loved the 265 express layout.

Working thru some bugs...
1 cracked thermostat housing dribble
1 oil tank pump wouldn't fill the little tank

Now having charging issues.
one battery trashed, won't charge. Previous owner had 3 brand new 24MS starting batteries.
bought 2 new 24DP dual purpose for the house side.

before ordering a service manual...
I got a new rectifier but that didn't improve things. Seems apparent based on comparison with other engine that its still not providing charge.
STbd has 13.7 volts on aux charging wire, port still has ~ zero. suspect stator now. Will follow manual troubleshooting when I get it.

beautiful rig skunk. I also moved up and jumped on the grady wagon this august. finally after selling my little old aquasport CC. I have a 2001. Where are you docked ? I am in traders cove in brick. Sounds like the stator like you pointed out btw

I'm in Will's Hole Marina, Point Pleasant Beach.
Bought from private seller in Warertown.

Either of you guys repower with inline 200s??? Saw a guy in the river with a 265 with new yamaha200s.

i have 200 hpdi's and just had to go for new powerheads. i was contemplating repowering with the 200 inline 4's but got very mixed opinions on the capabilities of the 4 cyl pushing this boat properly. i would love to ride on a 265 that has them on. i will keep a lookout for that boat, which river did you see it in ?

SkunkBoat, I'm Jealous! The 265 is my favorite layout, but I couldn't find any near me when shopping for my latest boat. Hope you enjoy.
