IMG_0106.jpegHey guys, on my 2006 marlin todsy, had someone lean against it too hard and shattered.... glass cleaning is terrible as you can imagine.... imagine my best option is having a window/glass show just custom make one? Let me know if anyone has any thoughts thanks!
 
Those vent windows are tough. You may get lucky and can find a dealer who has one in stock. Otherwise you will have to get one made which will cost you. I have had both scenarios. In my case no local glass place wanted to make a replacement. I ended up using the window from the other side as a template and marine glass specialties made a new window. If you have the hinge you will be better off. If you don’t have the hinge that will be a problem.
Some people have used clear plexiglass as replacements too.
 
I paid a local glass shop to make one after searching everywhere- as stated not cheap it was around $80. Do not lose the bracket that the glass sits it - they are even tougher to find. FYI the glass on both sides is identical - I brought the good window with me and the shop used it as a template.

Did the hinge fall overboard? If you lost the hinge you are screwed.
Otherwise, its easy to cut a piece of lexan and replace the glass.

Thread 'vent window repair'

I recently shattered a glass vent window on my 265....long story...I'll spare you...

Luckily, all hardware remained onboard.

I replaced glass with acrylic sheet .220"x24"x18" from home depot.
Project went crazy easy...

I used the other window to trace the pattern with a sharpie. Marked the holes.
Used a 5 1/2"' 100 tooth circular saw..."took the line"
Sanded the edges.
Drilled the holes. (be careful. a bit will grab when it pushes thru) Drill from both sides to make clean hole and avoid problems.
Used a countersink bit to knock off edges.

Lightly glued into hinge piece using 5200. Its...

I have the hinge luckily, was just a guest leaning against it too hard... Good to know that both sides are identical and no difference in the curvature. Yeah i figure probably a custom job...
