I always use the Johnson/Evinrude Carbon Guard only because I have Johnson motors. I doubt if it's any cheaper or easier to find than Ring Free though.

That's the way my Standard Horizon worked, you pressed a button to toggle back and forth from 1 to 25 watts.

This might be a dumb question but is your radio set to it's higher setting? My radio could be set to either 1 watt or 25 watts of transmit power.

HMBJack recommended this fixed bracket to me several years ago and it's been perfect for me. I had the Garelick adjustable bracket prior to this and was scared to death it would fail every time I towed the boat to the ramp. I don't think the T-8's are available from Yamaha anymore but the T9.9...

That's exactly what my 94 208 has.

I would just take the cap down to your local hardware store and look thru their assortment of O-rings until you find one that's a snug fit on the cap.
