    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

Success! Every boat challenge has a story, right? We found a new F250 in stock at Anderson's Marine in Old Hickory, TN in early November, settled arrangements to purchase, and they were going to ship (for $900) to my marina in DC to install. Then their Yamaha rep stepped in to say they could...

    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

I was quoted $25,900 and $26,100 by several different Yamaha dealers. I am told Yamaha controls pricing to prevent abuse, so the quotes are within a range Yamaha says dealers can charge.

    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

From what I have been quoted, it's only about $2-3K difference in MSRP, depending on the dealer, with Yamaha's three year extended warranty. Dealers have some flexibility in pricing within limitations from the manufacturers to prevent gouging in these tough times. Of course, they can always...

    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

Gentlemen, Thank you all for your feedback and insight. It is a very close call as both manufacturers are highly recommended. Fortunately, my 2003 F225 did not have the exhaust issues of almost 20 years ago, which I worried about, and I noted the lackluster customer service response by Yamaha...

    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

I am preparing to repower my 2003 228G with either a Yamaha F250XB or a Honda BF250DXRA, replacing the old F225. My marina is an authorized Honda and Yamaha dealer and says (hopefully) they can be delivered by Spring 2023. They gave me the options, and I'd appreciate any feedback or insight...

ISO Upholsterer to Make New Cushions

I do not have the three bow cushions or starboard transom cushion. I do have the port transom cushion, two cockpit seat cushions, and port and starboard chair cushions. For the cuddy cushions, which are in good condition, I'm thinking of just getting new slip covers. I'd also like to redo the...

ISO Upholsterer to Make New Cushions

I would appreciate recommendations for reasonably priced upholsterers to make new seats cushions for a 2002 GW 228G. Prefer shops generally located anywhere in the DC -- Baltimore/Annapolis -- Solomons region. The kids want to give me a Christmas present for the 2022 season. Any leads?

    Hull Cleaner: Liquid or gel?

In our Maryland inland rivers off the Chesapeake and Potomac, the brackish river water 'mustache' is common, especially on white hulls. Liquid hull and bottom cleaner, such as MaryKate On & Off liquid, does wonders on surface stain, but is not so effective on the hull growth. What are your...

    Steering Wheel shaft size

Looking to replace my 15" 6-spoke destroyer type steering wheel on 2002 228G: TeleFlex Marine, Sea Star model Helm 1.7 tilt HH5741 single station hydraulic. Grady, GW dealers, and Attwood (mfgr) can't tell what size shaft it is -- 3/4 in. tapered, 5/8, in., or something else. Any ideas?
