    Those kill switch thingies?

I think I've shared this before but incase I didn't. I was running back in from offshore on autopilot and it was pretty nice, had my feet up on the dash and the pedastal mount on my seat broke. The metal that attaches to the seat and slides over the shaft. I went from seated to on my back on the...

    Needing a little guidance

Thanks for the replies all. I like the stern mate for a transom mount/new install but I'm pretty set on a thru-hull for the ability to read bottom at speed. Lee the pickup install looks good, think I'll use 5200. Denco I appreciate the link, I've watched 3 or 4 videos of installs and feel I have...

    Needing a little guidance

Happy 4th all, I need a little guidance and possibly some reassurance. I'm looking to replace my broken transom mount xducer with a thru-hull. I think I've decided on an Airmar B-60 20⁰ based on budget and what appears to be ease of install. I am very handy and have confidence I can do the...

    Listing to Starboard

My question almost feels like a stupid question but what's your setup? I know if both motors are same rotation that will cause the boat to list as opposed to one regular and one counter.

Like a kid waiting on Christmas...

Hey Russ, not sure if you already purchased your bldg or not. I had a 15w by 40L by 15H built, roof only with the slab for 9700. I'm in NE FL. Just giving some comparison numbers. Love having the girl covered.

Speakers under gunwell - 6 total for Fusion stereo

I installed JL 6.5" where the courtesy lights were and under the gunnel. Under the gunnel I used a piece of starboard cut to size a little larger than the speakers and attached blocks to keep them in place. 3rd season with no problems and they sound great.

    New Danforth Anchor

Mine is 22# with 30' of chain.

    Windlass - opinions please

Hey Skunk, I'm not familiar with the locker on a 265 but my 300 barely fits 600' of rode and 30' chain. I have a Lewmar 700 and it does okay but you are supposed to cleat off the line anytime at anchor. If I had it to do over I would use a Good brand windlass. Mine is mounted forward of the...

    Delta anchor weight

    98 Marlin Live well Pump

The only issue I could see is if the drain isint big enough to drain properly. I cant remember off the top of my head the inlet/ pickup size but that could also be a limiting factor as to how much you can pump in. Does the 98 have the oval well behind the passenger seat? My 05 is plumbed to pump...

    Adding an auxiliary fuel tank

Very welcome, should be your main tank plus some open space. I'm surprised Grady would rig a Sailfish with a single 150. My deck has 2 separate removable deck hatches, the smaller aft hatch is only the bilge, generator, pumps and such. The larger forward removable deck is where my tanks are.

    Adding an auxiliary fuel tank

My 05 Marlin has two 150 gal tanks in the center below the removable deck. I would guess there's enough room in a Sailfish to have more than a single 150? How far aft does your single 150 sit? My second tank stops before the cavity below the midship berth. My holding tank and a few other things...

    No Boating

I'm not trying to argue either, I felt my post may have solicited those comments and wanted to offer a clear picture of the entire situation. They are taking precautions, however the nature of many of the tasks we are responsible for put us in close proximity to one another. My comfort in...

    No Boating

A few drinks out would imply a public bar/restaurant, which are closed in our area to begin with. Second a public bar is a completely different scenario than my private vessel with the same people who work closely together on a day to day basis. So to answer, with the threat of the virus, I...
