    GW Freedom 205

I have a ‘87 20’ Overnighter which is very similar to the freedom 20’ walkaround your considering. Before we had this boat we had a 19’ Bayliner bowrider. We love our Grady, it’s a much better boat for the waters off the Jersey shore than the bowrider was but there are things about the bowrider...

My New Grady White Overnighter 204c

One bit of 2 cents I’d add on the cover is to buy one bigger than what they recommend. You’ve got a 20’ boat so get a cover or at least A 22’ or even a 24’er. I have one from Cabelas a good one which is very well made but it’s a tough stretch with the bow rails and over the outboard. Not sure...

    TheHullTruth

There is a small contingent who share constructive thought and support for others but for the most part is dominated by trolls who bait others for their own amusement. I’ll check it now and then for the fishing reports and to pickup tips provided by the few who post constructive information and...

    Towing Grady with Jeep

Speaking from experience with a similarly equipped Jeep.... More than likely that Jeep has the same tow package that mine came with. It includes a tow/haul mode that reprograms the trans shift points, has auxiliary engine and transmission oil coolers, and a factory class five hitch. With good...

    Towing Grady with Jeep

Don’t think it’ll be a problem. Here’s my Jeep Commander with a 4.7 6,500 tow rating with my Overnighter on an aluminum I-beam loadrite elite. Dual axle brakes on both, radial tires. Handles great and stops like it’s not there. A lot of how well your vehicle tows is how good of a trailer you...

    209 fisherman

I bought an ‘87 20’ Overnighter in 2013 (26 years old) with a running ‘03 225 and a trailer. Paid $6,800. The hatch over the tank was soft and the tank had leaks. I had A new tank made, replaced all the fuel lines and recored the hatch myself. That added about $1,100 to my purchase. You know it...

    Christmas Eve Cruise

Spent my Christmas In bed with Covid and had my Grady parked in front of my barn instead of under its carport. Had me worried about snow on it and not being able to do anything about it. This would be your summer and it’s hard to fathom such beautiful weather around Christmas from this side of...

    How does beam affect ride?

Reminds me of a buddies 25 walkaround with twin 150’s. Not sure of the make but I’ve gone out striper fishing with him, he’s driven it and I’ve driven it. I was sure with the size his would be better but I swear my little overnighter with a big single rides smoother and a little faster through...

    Enclosure storage

I’ve got mine “rolled” up (not folded) and stored in a huge hockey equipment bag. The bag is so big there’s extra room in it so that it’s not squeezed or crushed into it. I use one for my boats cover too.

    1998 Grady White 226 Seafarer for sale - $18k - Not mine

Looks like a lot of boat for the money. They inside kept until recently. Wonder if the can prove that claim. Doesn’t look like it has bottom paint and looks clean supports it but no trailer ? Could it have been racked or on a boat lift under a cover And does that qualify as indoors ?

Can’t get a good cast surf fishing

Very good point. Up in the northeast bass will run in that trough just off the beach preying on baitfish and busted clams after a storm. Often times they’ll be 20-40’ in front of you. Also on posting this, most boats are put away for the year and with bass still running who could sit home and...
