I run an M-260 with my Furuno 582L and am quite happy with it. It's mounted in the rear fuel tank hatch as far back as I could go. It reads well at speed also. Here are a coulple of pics: This shows them completed. The M260 and the garmin backup Glassing in the reservoirs:

I installed a third battery in the center cabin floor storage on my 228. It run all the electronics. I used an optima because of the beating it takes up there. I have been happy with the performance but it doesn't have a big load. I still use AGM's for starting and pumps.

What I did on my 228G was 5200 a rule float switch right to the top of my pump. I got an outboard beeper for free from my outboard mechanic. If the water gets over the pump an alarm will let me know the pump isnt keeping up WAY before it's an emergency.

I have a 250 ETEC and I'm very please with the performance and mileage.

I've done the homework on this one. 'Zuke all the way. Catch them right and get a 6 year warranty. In the 250 they are lighter and have better low end power.
