    WTB: Grady 226 Seafarer

Check out my 228 is the classifieds below; it's a few years older in a 1996, but I've done a ton of work to it to update it. Custom pilot house, repowered three years ago, tons of maintenance items including new transom, through hulls, batteries, switch panel, etc. Comes with 12" Garmin...

    Repower Options: Seafarer 228G

I repowered my 228 with a Mercury 250. It's been awesome. As the above post stated, it's still a little ass heavy and my Mercs lighter than the others. I also have a Yamaha T8 back there.

    Potential Price of my Seafarer

I guess the proof would be in what someone would be willing to pay. I’m not sure why the custom pilot house would be a drawback. I think it looks great and is very functional with the big windows. Mine also has the Seav2 hull which I think is worth more than the ones you listed?

    Potential Price of my Seafarer

Heresy, I know, but I am toying with the idea of selling my Seafarer 228 and going back to an aluminum, bit smaller boat that I can fish nearshore for salmon but also take out on the lakes and rivers. I've put a lot of effort (and $) getting this thing the way I like it though. Here's the...

    Repower Recomendations for 1999 Tournament 225 replacement for E-tec 225hp 2008

I repowered my 228 from a 200 HPDI to a 250 Mercury. Two seasons on it now and I have loved it. Was lightest of the bunch and is a V8.

    2001 repower

Repowered my 228 last Spring with a Mercury 250; it was the one I could get the quickest and the lightest. Could not be happier; V8 has tons of torque and is so quiet. Put 100 hours on it my first Summer here on the Pacific in Oregon.

    gulfstream 232

Also to consider is how far you have to tow the boat and under which conditions. I have about a two hour drive to the coast and it is hilly and curvy. I had a Tundra and it pulled my Seafarer fine, but it was the cornering and stopping quickly that was concerning to me. At times it felt like...

    Inside Passage

There are no fish at Bremner, I wouldn't waste the 1 or 1.5 hour trip out there from Port Hardy. ;) In all seriousness, I would take three jerry cans of gas in my Arima (28 gallon main tank) so I could make that trip as much as possible. I have had higher numbers at Suttel and around the...

    Inside Passage

Went to Port Hardy 11 years in a row in my 17' Arima. Love Pine Island, but I like Bremner and Cape Suttel even better. Darn Covid has kept me out of Canada and Port Hardy for two year, but I am hoping to be back again this summer. Not ready to make the trip all the way up, but I can see the...

    Fuel tank alteration

I'm following this thread with interest in regards to my '96 228. I pulled off the hatch covers today and did not see corrosion on the top, nor could I smell any gas. Don't know if I will get to it this winter but it is something I believe I will need to keep an eye on. I do not have an...

    The Walk Around Cuddy R.I.P.

Hey the top one is my boat! Joe did an awesome job! As a tall guy, I absolutely love the taller cabin and windshield.
