I have a 2005 265 express. I took my dome cover off to access the electronics box. I used a 1/4 inch drive ratchet with a 1/4 inch socket and I stuck a number 2 Philips head driver in the socket and took the three screws out in the front. Good luck with your project.

I know you said its not pumps, but I just had the same problem with the electric fuel pump not working all the time. Mine ran fine at higher rpms and died at low rpms. Good luck finding your issue.

If you haven't re-caulked the bolts on the hard top leg I would start there. When I was looking at buying a 265 most of the fiberglass around the legs were high moisture areas. The other spot that my 265 leaked was the window hatch in the cabin and that water ran to the starboard side for me...

If he is giving you the boat can you run the Grady until you are sure that you will like it and then decide if you want to sell your boat. No boat is perfect, so you will have to pick the boat that fits you the best. If it were me I'd take the Grady.

I just used cleaner wax or oxidation remover and it comes right off. I wiped it down with dawn soap if you use cleaner wax for the new numbers to stick.

Thanks again for all the replies. I was able to run her today and trimmed the motors up around 2 or 3 on the Yamaha gauge. My mileage jumped up pretty quick on the gauge. Running across the bay at 3800 rpm I was up to 1.5 miles per gallon. Thanks again for al your help!
