282 Sailfish Bilge - drain issue between compartments????

Limber hole - just learned a new term - thank you! Yes it is the limber hole on the starboard side that sits right up against the transom. On the port side I can stick my finger through the limber hole. But on this starboard side the hole is almost fully sealed off with glass from the other...

282 Sailfish Bilge - drain issue between compartments????

This is a strange one. I have a 2007 282 Sailfish and have just noticed that a drain hole between compartments that should be there is not? The starboard stringer that runs next to the fresh water tank has what looks to be a hole, but when I stick my finger in it the hole appears to have been...

    Bow Pulpit Fiberglass Cracks...

Thank you all for your input. I'm in Vancouver, Canada and I do use the pulpit all the time as I go up there to untie one of the ropes and deal with shore power every time I'm in and out of my slip. Don't anchor much, but would like to more in the future. For me this is definitely not a DIY...

    Bow Pulpit Fiberglass Cracks...

Hello Everyone, I have a 2007 282 Sailfish which I purchased in 2019. The surveyor noted gelcoat cracks across the bow pulpit but said the pulpit was solid and that it was of no concern. The previous owner must have got the anchor stuck somewhere and tried to force it out as the boat came with...

2007 Sailfish Pompanette seat post diameter size?

Thanks for this heads up. I was referring to the sliding seat base mechanism.

2007 Sailfish Pompanette seat post diameter size?

Does anybody know the seat post diameter on a Pompanette seat for a 2007 Sailfish? I'm assuming it is 2-7/8" but not anywhere close to the boat to be able to measure it. Need to order a sliding seat base replacement and would like to install next time I get to the boat but I forgot to measure...

    Transom Mount Crack

But there is no seepage from the crack to the left and above the left nut? And very little to the right of the right nut. Looks to me the rusty nut is seeping rust filled moisture to the right along the crack with gravity pulling it that direction. That is my impression in any case.

    Transom Mount Crack

Let us know what the surveyor tells you. I have similar cracks on my 282 sailfish that the surveyor never even mentioned (boat was on the opposite coast). I'm suspecting they are just gel coat cracks on my boat as I measure the transom moisture when I pull the boat out and it hasn't changed in...

Round deck plates - pop in or screw in?

Just ordered a combo of the spin (for motorwell area), and pop out for deck in matching Grady colors from Beckson. They are the OEM supplier to Grady. Super happy!

Round deck plates - pop in or screw in?

Hello - I’m due for some new deck plates as the 8” pop in round ones I have are leaking in places. The screw in ones look like they would be more watertight than my existing pop in ones but not sure if one has an advantage over the other. In any case only need 2 non slip ones and the other can...

Deck drain inserts - where to find replacement part?

It seems like all the Home Depot's in Canada have them (that is where I got mine). Try www.homedepot.ca to get the Canadian stores. They may not ship to the US but maybe you can get them to ship to a mail/parcel company in Canada that can then ship package directly to you. You'll end up...
