Has anyone done a glass front, like what the 330 Express has, on a 228?

I was going to leave the existing tubing in place for the hardtop frame and design so I had unobstructed view through windshield.

New Windshield - Ideas for frame???

sorry...Not been on for a while. I didn't pursue this....but may someday. Dad has had health issues and thought I may sell the boat so I didn't want to make the investment. If you pursue it let us know how it turns out.

Has anyone done a glass front, like what the 330 Express has, on a 228?

I too find the windshield height to be annoying on my 1984 seafarer. I sketched up a tall one (figuring I would go a few inches away from tube frame at top and fill in gap with vinyl) and had these guys quote me making one. It was a couple years ago and less than $3000. I wanted glass, with...

    Gas smell

I replaced the tank in my 1984 Seafarer. Lines are a pain to replace. If you want some ideas of what I did: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKY3HuZDoWwR_iSbBmZmWEkSuhFlgBwjb

Not That Anyone Asked: My 226 Seafarer 1-Year Review

Restored my 1984 model 226 from 2017-2018. Been fishing it on Lake Erie 2018 to current. Caught ton of walleye and steelhead. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKY3HuZDoWwR_iSbBmZmWEkSuhFlgBwjb I opted to enclose my transom and have a custom bracket/swim platform built. It does a great job...

Not That Anyone Asked: My 226 Seafarer 1-Year Review

I repowered my 1984 Seafarer with a 300 Verado. If you intend to keep the boat, maybe you want to replace the bracket? I maximized my new bracket for additional buoyancy. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKY3HuZDoWwR_iSbBmZmWEkSuhFlgBwjb

    228 Repower

Following this thread. I have a 1984 model. I repowered with a 300 Verado L6 (inline 6) in 2018. This was the year Mercury introduced the V8, and I didn't want to be a guinea pig. However, the V8's seem to be phenomenal. I love my Verado. Silky smooth. DTS. Power steering. Amazing snap...

    New motor or say goodbye

If you're looking for payback justification....dollars...then you know the answer. I repowered my 1984 Seafarer with a new Verado 300 with power steering and all the bells and whistles. Was it worth it? YEP! Lots of smiles and good times on a boat I enjoy!

    Seafarer 228 4 blade vs 3 blade

Hi all. I started with a 19P 3 blade on my seafarer (300 Verado). While it would go over 50 mph with "ease", it wouldn't hit the right RPM range. It also wasn't "great" on hole shot or planing speed. I contacted Ken at PropGods. I explained my loading conditions and he recommended a 17P rev...

    Repower

I am running a 300 Mercury Verado L6 version on my 1984 Seafarer. I'd go 300 on your larger boat if hole shot is of concern. I am very tickled with the Verado on the Seafarer. I cruise 28-32 mph with my normal load getting 2.73 mpg. In flat conditions, it likes to run 36-40 and sounds...

    Seafarer Wood Bulkhead Replacement

I have some footage of replacing mine in my videos on YouTube. I used old as template. Marine grade plywood. Resin coated the edges. Glued on laminate. Very happy. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKY3HuZDoWwR_iSbBmZmWEkSuhFlgBwjb

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

Wow...my 1984 will be a collector's edition? :) Having come from a line of boats growing up: 22' well craft. 25' Tiara. 34' Luhrs.....I love the Seafarer. Perfect to trailer. Huge cockpit for a 22' boat. Efficient. Fast. I am tickled with it. It can take a lot of water...not going...
