Suspension Seating for a Seafarer 228

Definitely something to be aware of. I am hoping to be able to do both seats if all goes well. Thanks

Suspension Seating for a Seafarer 228

Yes, it is just shy of 16". I will be able to recess the mount almost 7.5" and that will just about 8.5" to the top of the mount. It is 2" taller than my current seat position, but I like the line of site better and steering will be just fine.

Suspension Seating for a Seafarer 228

Ideally it would be less than 10”. If I go with shox or seaspenion, it should be attainable. I can recess up to 7 1/4” into the storage compartment.

Suspension Seating for a Seafarer 228

I am wondering if anyone has put a suspension seat on their 228? There are plenty to chose from, however the achilles heal seems to be there are not that many with a short seat mast. Everything I find puts me 2-4" higher that the OEM seat. Just wondering if anyone has found a solution? This...

Fixing my 228, autopilot and power steering question

Lucky, I put the Raymarine on because it had great reviews and is a simple solid AP. If you need the safe route navigation, garmin is a good choice. I fish on a boat regularly that has garmin AP and it has the all the bells and whistles and it is great and very functional. Interesting you...

Fixing my 228, autopilot and power steering question

Lucky, I put the Raymarine EV150 on my 228 and have been loving it. The only thing I wish is that I did it sooner. No problems integrating it with my Garmin gps. You will not be disappointed if you go that direction.

    Removing and re-applying hull-side "GRADY-WHITE" name plates

Like others have said, use a heat gun and remove the letters or stripe. Then wipe down with acetone, I did mine this spring and it turned out great. I ordered a new logo and striping from the dealer and my 2000 looks new.

Mounting a crab puller to a 209 Fisherman gunnel

No it is a continuous piece. I would put it back by the stern cleat area, I'm sure that would be fine with a backing plate.

Mounting a crab puller to a 209 Fisherman gunnel

I run this same setup on my 228 and love it. I have the GM650 with a backing plate made out of G10 board for additional strength. I use Pac Pro puller for crab here in Oregon without any issues. If you have any questions you can always give them a shout, the owners are incredibly...

It’s official… we’ve got some blood on the deck!

Well done, now you need to get out and chase some albacore. There would be some trailering involved but you would enjoy a trip to Westport. We put 33 albacore on my 228 out of Garibaldi 2 days ago. Good work and glad you are getting after the salmon.

I could not find any info on it, indicating that it would be ok. Not worth taking a chance damaging the motor for saving a few bucks. Thanks
