    kitchen & head faucets

Check out the Scandvik website. These products were used on my 272 Sailfish. While Scandvik sells through distributors, they will sell "parts" direct. Try their 800 # in FL. I replaced the aerators in the galley, head, and shower for about $12. Their people were pleasant to deal with.

pulling out frig to check plumbing ?

Removing the frige is not a real problem. Remove the top and bottom retaining trim strips, then remove the screws along metal sides of the unit. It will then slide out. The power cord is long enough so that the unit can be placed on the V-berth without disturbing the electrical...

    Refrigerator ( Reefer ) Problem

The fridge on my 2000 Sailfish is 12V only, powered from the house battery. Ran that battery down using an electric downrigger and saw that the fridge was not operating and that the green light was still on. Think the light just says that the fridge rotary switch is on and that there is enough...

    Underseat Storage Door Frames

272 Sailfish - The molded plastic door frames on each of the two underseat storage areas are yellowed and scuffed. Tried to wet sand a small area with no real effect. Any thoughts on refinishing or cleaning these?? Local GW dealer quoted $177.00 each for the frames and a 3 week special...

    Macerator Pump Replacement???

First thought of using a 1.5" dip tube into the tank to fit the inlet of the new pump. Hose run is to be about 14". Ever tried to bend 14" of 1.5" sanitary hose???? Not good. Realizing that the liquid in the holding tank has been macerated by the electric head, had little concern about...

    Macerator Pump Replacement???

Thanks Josh S & Grog......what size(ID) tube did you install throuigh the cover plate. Did you go with a 1.5"ID to fit to the new pump or did you reduce it down to a 1" or less???

    Macerator Pump Replacement???

Thanks BobP. Understand that the macerator in the head does not facilitate pumping overboard, however that means that the liquid in the tank has been macerated. My question concerns the installation of a dip tube in the top of the tank extending down to about 1/2" off the bottom(using the old...

    Macerator Pump Replacement???

Am tired of pulling the internal GROCO macerator pump in my Sailfish 272(2000). In the past, I have replaced the ceramic seals, bellows, etc. Seems that I have to remove and free up the pump every six months or so. Probably need to put a zipper on it. Has anyone replaced the internal pump...

    Steering wheel cap replacement

Received Atwood part # 8324-1 center cap ordered through West Marine. Had thought (hoped) it would fit the 15" 25 degree wheel (8652-1) supplied to GW for the 2000 272 Sailfish and others. No luck. Have returned part. Atwood now says they haven't made that steering wheel in a very long time...

    light above helm

After you remove the light, check out the switches. Replaced both the spreader and red/white light switches last year. Cost about $5 or $6 total. Search "dome light switch" in the forum. I think I got the info from Hookup1. Easy replacement.

    Wiper Motors.........

A run from Key West back to Punta Gorda across Florida bay was pretty bumpy and really wet. The circuit breaker on the wiper switch of my 2000 272 Sailfish popped. Reset breaker and the wipers worked for a while then the breaker popped and could not be reset. Have never worked on these wipers...

Thanks for the input.....that's exactly the advice I needed. Will try to approach this issue some other way.

    Battery Charging Question....

Should there be any concerns over operating an onboard AC charger(Guest 2 stage, 3 bank 30amp) while the engines(200HP OX66) are running and also charging the batteries? The onboard charger floats at 13.6V. Goal would be to quickly bring the deep cycle house battery up after using downriggers...

    macerator pump 272 sailfish

Sounds like some corrosion around the pump shaft. Pull the pump and turn the shaft with a wrench until it turns freely. If you place the pump upside down, squirt the lube into the recess around the shaft. If you have a 12V source, run the pump and add more lube. Be sure to check the...

    macerator pump 272 sailfish

If you have power to the pump, it may just be frozen due to lack of use, corrosion, and the environment it lives in. If you have lights in the panel, you probably have power to the pump. Remember that the level lights and probe have nothing to do with the pump operation. Pull the pump and check...

    macerator pump 272 sailfish

You really need to search for "groco" or "groco macerator" as I suggested earlier. The level indicator lights have absolutely nothing to do with the ability of the pump to operate. How do you know that the floats have rotted? Did you pull the sender? If the lights are on, there is power to...

Adding AC to a Sailfish 282

Don't know the exact layout of the 282, however installed a Mermaid 6500 BTU unit under the stairwell on the port side of my 2000 272 Sailfish. It is aft of the refrig and can be accessed/installed with the refrig out. I am sure Cruise Air, etc. make a suitable unit/size to fit in this area...

    Honda2000i Again....

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Curreently like ahill's lower profile set-up. CO monitor is on the workbench for installation next week. ahill: 2 questions. Is the extended run tank on the port side a diy or a Honda accessory? Noticed that the integrated swim ladder is under the fuel...
