    Yamaha Command Link Plus

I have changed the generic forms of readouts but I haven't been able to find if the oil pressure can swap for the water pressure. I guess playing with it will wiat 'til spring. Wrapped up and put to bed now

    Yamaha Command Link Plus

I hope I can be concise...let's see. At the end of the season here on Cape Cod, one morning as we headed out I noticed the lower left indicator on my Command screen was not responding. My first thought was I thought it was the oil pressure. Not low, just the gauge with no pressure read out...

To fat or bad design? Maybe Both!

Seasick comments……as well as the hull shrinkage, there is always the issue of the Captain ‘bulking up’…….not saying that happens to everyone but I have experienced that phenomenon.

    Tilt and Trim Issue

This morning when we went out the boat had been at a mooring over night with the motor up. The water in the harbor was smooth as a baby’s butt and no oil. (Not so much once we got to open water) But I suppose having sat overnight, the motor having been tilted up last night, any minor leaking...

    Tilt and Trim Issue

Hows about a simple answer? Low fluid. But no one can find any sign of a leak. Ran the motor up-down half a dozen times, in the water, out of the water. No leaks on land, no visible oily film on water. Go figure. Seems the fliud had to have gone somewhere. I do not understand why the...

    Grady 208 Bow Rail Diameter?

Well, the rash spread a bit and I don't think the diameter was close to two inches. But if you want another good story we can go back about 30 years when I chainsawed some not-yet-leafed-out poison ivy vines on a dead tree and not thinking. My rash got onto my wife's leg, doctor gave her...

    Grady 208 Bow Rail Diameter?

Who wudda thought a question about rails could be soooooooo interesting? Here's an unrelated tid bit. My wife got a rash, had problems with it being brought under control, ended up with the zillion dot things on her back to test for allergies. Turns out she gets a pretty strong reaction to...

I remember grade school when we had to memorize those fractions and decimals. Not so much these days.

The pump and electrics always engage, but it took the jiggling to sort of free up a stuck something

    Tilt and Trim Issue

The switch immediately engages the pump motor. No odd sounds, nice and smooth like it was working properly. Once the motor starts to tilt, smooth as a babys bottom. Up is never an issue. And once it moves, down, back up…..then down is immediate and no issue. This afternoon when we came...

    Tilt and Trim Issue

Thanks for the replies. Got another input thinking the issue is valves in the 10 yr old system perhaps gunked up and sticking. Boats at a marina so not having maintenance access, asked them to looked at it. They’ve been accurate and fair with a couple other repairs. I’ll note what the...

    Tilt and Trim Issue

When the motor is down, only observation is with motor running, yesterday for example. Out for 3-4 hours, shut down at a mooring, hit switch for ‘up’, immediate response. Only delay seems to be ‘down’ after its been up and off for more than ……….. a while….by that I mean an hour , maybe...

    Tilt and Trim Issue

As soon as you hit the switch, motor runs, sounds fine, just no movement for several seconds, then everything is like its supposed to be. Any moves after that, no issue unless the boat has sat not running for a few hours. Sounds like the place to start is the resevoir

    Tilt and Trim Issue

I have a 2013 F250 outboard on my Seafarer. No engine issues but what seems to be a developing problem on the tilt/trim. If and only if the boat has sat with the motor up for a while, the ‘down’ action takes a bit of a delay. Never did that before. For example, if the boat is taken to a...

    Grady 208 Bow Rail Diameter?

I guess I agree with you. My only itch is during my working days any caliper was generally referred to as a vernier, when some were dial type, others (just coming in those days) were digital. I suppose back when all that was available were vernier calipers. Probably beat this topic to death...

    Grady 208 Bow Rail Diameter?

I stand corrected. I looked at a blow up of the ad pic. I guess its reads .801 or there abouts. I am thinking I was recalling slide rules. Digital calipers are a lot simpler

    Grady 208 Bow Rail Diameter?

I got one of the digital calipers on sale several years ago, something less than 10 bucks. I don't use it a lot but its pretty good for the money. I am not sure I'd set up critical bearing clearances with it, but for home shop use, its a steal. And I am on the original button cell battery.
