Things you wished you knew your first year owning a 360?

That is a good point. First question they always ask me is 'how much experience'.

    SAILFISH RE-POWER-OPTION or NOT

Regarding Zukes, if you have a great mechanic and want to keep the price down, they are solid 4 stroke motors, if less glamorous. Personally, I would go with the Yamaha 225's you save several thousand under the 250 price and the power difference will not be appreciablte in that boat unless...

Things you wished you knew your first year owning a 360?

If you are a new boater, and insist on the big 360, be sure to get a bow thruster, cause you will have some dicey days learning how to slip that big boy.

Hey Guys- Anyone ever put an upgraded windlass on their boat? My Marlin's windlass is pretty wimpy. Slow to drop and retrieve, wondering if anyon has ever upgraded and how that worked out?

    What should I do?

LOL, Bob, always reminding us of the legacy of the Marlin as the stepchild of the Sailfish.

    What should I do?

I agree, seems many are telling you "Oh well, it is a great deal, use the boat and be happy, regardless." Double the hours? That is ridiculous in my opinion. There are just not a plehtora of 4s for sale with those kind of hours, maybe in a few years people will be less wary when they see high...

    What should I do?

New ones are about 15k/ea plus getting them hung, expensive. There are double the hours on your engines. Those engines are seriously depreciated. Thats 600 hours you cannot get back, and thats alot of use. I would get alot back, or give it back. Price of one engine maybe?

    2004 Marlin Batery Config

I hear you, whenever it is sketchy, I usually blame it on my own zeal and try to get home quickly, if possible. Here is a good one for you. Recently I was in my friends lower end 25' cat (sorry to Cat owners, but this one at least, feels really weird when it takes a wave, a wierd, non v-hull...

    2004 Marlin Batery Config

Thanks Mega- I appreciate it- I am indeed enjoying the Marlin. Had it on some nice runs. Thing is so solid. What a great ride in the open ocean. Had it in some not so pleasant stuff, slow down, trim it up and she plows right on.

    2004 Marlin Batery Config

Guys, I am trying to decipher my wiring diagrams, can anyone confirm (or deny) the std wiring config in the 2004 Marlin for me? I think that each engine is started via a battery bank (starboard and port banks) of two batteries and that the accessories operate from the starboard batteries...

    366 is in

I dunno, I like the Sailfish, but it was just a bit too small for us in the 'wrong' places. The Marlin was an improvement on every front. It is the perfect pocket battlewagon, IMO. Really, where can you get so much in one package? Popular this decade as Sailfish was the last decade...
