    Fisherman 222 Scuppers

On the 222 I bought, the 4 scuppers plumbed to the floor drains (not the 2 larger ones in the motor well) need to be replaced. I am now trailering only but the previous owner stored it wet and all 4 holes are plugged up with barnacles and the flaps are distorted. My question is this. Should I...

Question regarding buying a Grady White

the sad thing is, this was once a brand new, shiney beauty of a boat. I makes me sick to think of the incremental abuse/neglect that led to it's current condition. It's like a serial killer was once a sweet little happy baby. WHAT HAPPENS???????

question for 222 owners, or anyone who might know

My '99 has a 27 gallon livewell under the seat in front of the center console. Yours should as well. I've been told it's not big enough for serious live bait fishing but I troll more than anything so it's going to be fine for me.

    Bottom Paint Removal

So does soda blasting further mar the gel coat? Let's assume the bottom wasn't prepped, would blasting screw it up? Will it remove all the paint? What would I be left with? Oh and I will never store it wet. Will always trailer.

    Bottom Paint Removal

My new(to me) '99 222 was stored wet and of course the bottom is painted. I see products at Boaters World that claim to remove bottom paint; everything from hazardous to enviro. friendly products. I know this is not an easy job, but how well do these products work? Any better than others? I also...

    Autopilot on a 222 Fisherman

Re: interesting.... yeah, I "get it" now that you communicate it correctly. Hey, do you think that chick in your avatar would come help me? If so, I might change out all sorts of $hit on that boat.

    Autopilot on a 222 Fisherman

Great! I'll take some response over none, but what if I don't want to change out the steering. Is there a decent affordable autopilot that will do the job designed for cable steering? The cable is fine with me. I see no need to spend the money to change it out unless there's no other option. I'm...

    Autopilot on a 222 Fisherman

Are there any brands that I should stay away from? Has anyone actually installed one themself? I feel this would be a great addition to the boat esp. when trolling. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

    Autopilot on a 222 Fisherman

I'm the proud owner of a 1999 222 Fisherman. I would like to add autopilot and would appreciate any suggestions. The boat has mechanical steering w/ tilt wheel.

    Fisherman 222

Thanks Fish. Wonder how much trouble it's going to be to remove the bottom paint? Is that a DIY type thing?

    Fisherman 222

Thanks, I had it checked out and everything was fine. The bottom paint and some very minor barnacle growth is slowing it down a bit I think. we had it up to about 35 knots on the gps and maybe I could have squeezed a bit more out but not much. I think that bottom paint has got to go! I may...

    Fisherman 222

What top speed/cruising speed and approximate fuel comsumption could I expect out of a 1999 222 Fisherman with 225 OX66 engine, 17" SS prop, T Top and painted bottom? I know this is a heavy boat. I am considering one as described and would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
