A danforth anchor is great but be sure it is high tinsel. More expensive but a world of difference in preformance. As far as a tow vehicle Iv'e had 3/4 ton gas trucks and went to a Dodge 2500 Diesel and will NEVER go back to a gas rig to tow with.

I have an Islander 270 that I mounted a Lewmar windlass and used their 8 Plait anchor line. Have same problem so I made a chute to direct the line further aft. Did not work. 8 Plait is very soft and I'm wondering if 3 strand may be better. Frustrated and still looking for a solution.

How many ft lbs or torque should I use on the bolts that hold the lower unit on? I thought I would use NeverSeeze but wonder ir I should use Locktite instead? If so what color? It might not make much difference but the boat is used in fresh water only.

I could not change time or date so I called Garmin. I had to pay shipping both ways and put a $6 deposit on the chip that I get back when I return it. They knew about this problem and I'm kind of surprised that they didn't offer to correct it for free.

I think you need to prime it. There is a white hose that runs from the pump to the bowel. Remove the bowel end and pour in some water while pumping. Reasemble and you should be good to go. Iv'e been meaning to put a T in the line to make it easier.
