Who uses Lee's Jr. on their ~27' cuddy?

Hi - I am looking to add Lee's Jr outrigger holders (with 18.5' poles) to my 268 Islander. Does anyone have any experience with these, and if so, how do you like them? Thanks, Andy

    Grady Cockpit Bolster Project

Thanks! If you look really close at the picture above you can see the small brass rings on the bottom edge of the bolster where the mesh vinyl is.

    Grady Cockpit Bolster Project

If you look underneath the bolster you should see brass rings kind of like what what you see on the edges of a tarp where a rope would thread through. There is a screw in there somewhere holding the bolster to the gunnel. Remove those screws and the bolster should pop straight up off of the...

    Grady Cockpit Bolster Project

No Sorry - I cut the boards to size (have half of a 4x8 sheet left over), drilled the holes in them (for the brackets) and brought all the materials (a bunch of raw material left over) to a friend of mine who sewed it all up for me.

    Grady Cockpit Bolster Project

Hi - I was inspired by the many posts on this forum concerning recovering/building coaming bolsters. The solid backing material (the board that hangs on the stainless clips that the vinyl staples to) was the only thing I had to figure out on my own (high density pvc foam board), everything else...

    Gas tank replacement

Hi - I pulled the tank out of my 268 Islander this winter for the purpose of adding a second one in front of it. I am in the process of having two new ones built by SP tanks in NJ. They have the rubber padding fill hoses, vent hoses, clamps etc. (and a ton of knowledge). My old tank was also a...

    Refurbishing Cockpit Bolster Pads

Hi Everyone - I stumbled onto these guys, they have good pricing on the Seaquest products and you can buy the Welt'ing by the yard (don't have to buy the whole 50yd spool). I just ordered enough material to do two 6' bolsters and it cost me $150 with material left over (staples not included)...

    Refurbishing Cockpit Bolster Pads

Hi Dustydog - My understanding is that the "welds" on the Seaquest Pleated Vinyl material are 54" long meaning that you can have a 60"+ long bolster with no seams that in effect could be up to 54" tall/high! (minus the amount of material needed to fold over the foam and behind the backer board)...

    1995 Islander 268 re-power question

Hi Dan - I also have a 1995 268 Islander and converted from a single 250 to twin 200 hpdi's. The scuppers are half way submerged but I'm very happy with the repower. I think I will have to raise my motors one more hole though.

Autopilot components location for 268 Islander

Hi Brian - I'm embarrassed to say that I don't have my notes from our conversation as to where the fluxgate and computer went  I'm clear on the pump, connections, etc. but not on the best spot for the fluxgate. Andrew

New Sailfish owner with a few questions

Hi and congratulations on your new boat. I am a new Grady owner as of last August (95, 268 Islander) and I absolutely love it. I had a bizzillion questions from the get-go and am probably down to about a million now. One awesome resource for learning about the engine, gauges, fuel/oil supply...

    Props for 200hp HPDI's on Islander 268

Marty, I found a pair of mint Yamaha 14.5 x 18 props (considering buying them), slightly less pitch but should get me a few more RPM's. Why did you choose the 14.5 x 19?

Rent a trailer to bring my 268 Islander home?

Hi, Im looking into renting a trailer to bring my 268 Islander from LBI, NJ to my home in Flemington. I am re-powering this winter and it would be so much more convenient to do it at home vs down the beach. Any ideas or anyone local willing to rent? (Hauler is really expensive!!)

Re: Props for 200hp HPDI's The engines came with Quicksilver 48-13703A41 21P and 48-13702A41 21P I'd be willing to part with these and get a couple of the Yamaha props.
