Why do I have to spend an arm and a leg to get a seat?

Thanks fellas. These are the same brand seats that I had on my 18 Angler, so yes, I would definately say below average quality. The sliders are badly oxidized - typical of low grade aluminum. Should have relaced them a while back, but it wasn't in the budget :uhm

Why do I have to spend an arm and a leg to get a seat?

1993 Adventure 208. Boat is in good shape. Time to retire the original seats, which were of average quality to begin with. I want a comfy seat and am looking at ladder-backs from Todd, etc. I’m thinking I may be crowding the helm with two of these, no way to know for sure. Anyone put the bigger...

Adventure 208 thru hull /deck drain replacement

David, I have a similar issue with my 1993 Grady 208. Would you mind indicating what the problem was and how you solved it? Joe

Can't figure out how water is getting into my 208

Good info. Thanks everyone. Yeah, I think I should replace all the through hulls as they are original. I'll also do the gaskets on the deck plates. I've never had to replace through hulls before - how hard/easy is it? Here's an idea: if you live in the Boston area and have an hour to spare...

Can't figure out how water is getting into my 208

Greetings, I have a 1993 208 that has been kept on a trailer for most of its life. The hull is in great shape with no obvious points for water entry. It has the standard live well setup with raw water wash down. Also has 10 gallon freshwater tank. I've become alarmed by the amount of water that...

    which combo radar/gps/sounder

I'm thinking of putting a furuno depth finder on the boat to start with - the LS6100 fits the bill. next season, i'll add the radar/chartplotter. what would be a good radar/plotter unit for this setup?

    which combo radar/gps/sounder

Thanks. I'm looking at furuno systems to start with. I'll have to give up some features given my budget, which is 2K or less. Someone suggested starting with a system that is modular so that I can add the radar when I have the $$.

    which combo radar/gps/sounder

Hey Fellas, I have an adventure 208. The depth finder just went (had to be 6-7 years old or more). It could be the transducer, wiring or the unit itself, which I accidentally dropped last week (I partially caught it before it hit the floor, but that might have done it in). The fish-finder was...

fixed the float switch and caused another problem

good info. The new float switch screws held firm, so I'm hoping the wood is not rotted. It's hard to tell, since the hole I need to fill is so small. I did see the heavy roven. I'm going to put the 5200 on there for now and keep an eye on it. Thanks for all the advice everyone.

fixed the float switch and caused another problem

Yeah, I'll change out that rule and get a new one down there. I did change the float switch. Hard to tell if the wood is rotted - it seems to be encased in fiberglass matting. The hole I'm plugging is smaller than the size of a dime, and the bilge has rarely seen water. I'd love to change out...

fixed the float switch and caused another problem

While we are on the topic - how long do bilge pumps last anyway? The boat has an 1100 rule in it. It has most likely not been run for more than a few minutes in its life - the former owner kept the boat on a trailer and it was not bottom painted. The pump looks original, the boat is a 93. It's...

Thanks. When you say the 5200 will kick - off, what do you mean?

fixed the float switch and caused another problem

Hello all, I went to replace an old float switch to the bilge pump on my 1993 adventure 208. When I went to screw in the new base for the float switch, the screw actually broke off a piece of fiberglass down in the bilge. There is a slightly elevated part of the hull down there which I assume...
