    Thanks for the comeback, good to know. My mechanic stated that the holes were gelcoated inside, and that he was not concerned with water intrusion. Thanks again.

    Drain tubes are located in the transom, 1-1/4" diameter x 3" long(brass). I got the parts, and gave the job to my mechanic. He thinks that the 3" tube might be too short (concerned wtith duplicating flange on the end) Called Grady, they said that some transoms came out thicker than others...

    I have the 2001 265 with 2003 200 hpdi's, boat gets 5700 rpm's religiously, occasionally seeing 5800. This is the case with full fuel tanks and 2-3 persons, top end like this is 44.5 mph. This is spinning 15 1/4 x 17 yamaha stainless props. Gradyfish22, i remember one of your recent posts...

    i looked at the optima battery today, dual purpose(model dm34) , looks equal in size to the 24 group batteries i have , they are $160 --i wonder if they worth the extra money compared to west marine type for around $100--any thoughts ?
