When does the fat lady sing?

The weather is changing here so I'm going to give it one last weekend Blackfishing and then give it the last major cleaning before bringing it up to CT and pulling it next week. It's been a fun season though, I always hate to see it end. :hmm I guess I'm just going to have to make do with my...

    Is Grady Quality still There?

I was back up at the dealer yesterday and added a leaking starboard cabin window to the list. So far they're supportive and are documenting and repairing as necessary. I agree, so far they are minor issues - BUT - these aren't Bayliners, there is no reason a boat should leave their factory...

    Is Grady Quality still There?

Just wondering what the group feeling is about Grady's Quality these days. I ran my '96 208 for over 18 years here in the North East and only had a couple of minor problems. On my new 2015 while the problems are relatively minor, this first season saw the gas sending unit fail (twice), a...

Thanks! I'll give the connection another look and see if it reads properly.

    Fuel gauge/sender problems

Good discussion and helpful info guys. I just had the sender replaced on my 3 month old boat and for some reason it now reads 3/4 with a full tank. Not good. I'm going to talk to the dealer about replacing it again and will also ask about this WEMA product. A direct connect would make me feel...

What do you like and dislike about your Grady?

I'm a bit late to this party but what I like about my 208 is it's seaworthiness for a relatively small boat here on the Long Island Sound. I like the Electronics Glovebox - I've got a garmin 7" 741XS in there with plenty of room left for my phone, portable radio, glasses, folded chart, and...

    Fish finder/navigation

I went with a garmin 741xs on my 208 Adventure and so far I'm very pleased with it. Fits nicely in the electronics box too.

    Live Well

On my 208 the inline valve and live well pump are right next to the bilge pump at the rear of the boat. It's a very awkward reach to get to the valve but I guess that's where they install them.

What to put on rusty bimini supports?

My boat came with a tube of Flitz from Grady to use on the rails and Bimini supports, I'd try that first.

    Question on extending Yamaha warranty

That corrosion issue is probably the biggest reason I'm leaning that way. Thanks for the reply. The V-6 150 2 stroke I had on my last 208 was pretty bullet proof and I never had any repairs at all, so it was tempting to just take the $500. I think the smarter move would be to extend though...

    Question on extending Yamaha warranty

Hey Guys, I have a question regarding extending the Yamaha 3 year warranty. Between the time I made the deal on my boat and took delivery, Yamaha offered an extended warranty for an extra 2 years. (in other words a 5 year warranty). During the buying phase essentially this would mean that the...

    Cockpit cover for 208 Adventure

That's good info, especially about the snaps lining up. On my last 208 I went with a local company and they set it up so that everything lined up the same way. I did have to fold down the Bimini for the same reason. Even though the snaps slide easily on the windshield it was nice to have...

    Cockpit cover for 208 Adventure

Thanks I'll go back and take another look at their website. I'm happy with that size cover. It's enough to keep the seats and helm clean dry and free of seagull droppings. Those bastards really make a mess!

    Cockpit cover for 208 Adventure

Does anyone know if Grady makes a Cockpit Cover for the 208? I don't see one in the online brochure. I had one made locally for my last 208. It's a much simpler operation than zipping in and buttoning down all of the vinyl windows and drop curtain every time I close up the boat in between...

does anyone know what this is

The manual says to use a product like "Alumaguard". No abrasives and no chlorine bleach products. It even goes as far as to say you should wash it with gentle cleaners like ivory liquid soap. I didn't know that.

The tail of "2" corroded motors

Was this corrosion issue limited to the 02 -04 225's only? Is it still a problem with current Outboards?
