    Overnighter w/ Merc 150 4 stroke performance?

I checked out the new yamaha 200. It retails around $19K while the 150 Merc retails around $10K (Ed's Marine price). That's a huge difference. Not sure it would be worth it.

Overnighter rod holder & outrigger backing plates?

OK, I'm going to look into the side mount Tigress bases. They'd mount on the side of the cabin. I only intend on installing the OR poles on trips I want to troll. So, while not ideal it might be better than cutting access holes. I'm going to take the suggestion of screwing the rod holders in...

Is a 2008 150 Yamaha adequate power for an overnighter

Yes, it's adequate. I have an 87' with the original 150 yamaha. It goes well with up to three pepole and full fuel. I would repower with that motor. That said, ideal power is probably a 200. Good luck.

Overnighter rod holder & outrigger backing plates?

Grady white customer service recomended cutting access holes the installing inspection plates. They said to use washers or buy the backing plates. Just thought I'd follow up for the next person with the same question.

Overnighter rod holder & outrigger backing plates?

I'm thinking gunwale mount outriggers are the way to go. I'd like to add a rod holder in the transom too. I researched a bit and everyone seems to recomend using backing plates to distribute the load, especially on the riggers. Since the overnighters have no gunwale access I want to know how...

Overnighter rod holder & outrigger backing plates?

Those of you that added rod holders and outriggers, did you go w/out backing plates or did you cut access holes? Am I missing something? I know someone had to have added them.

    GW Gelcoat Color Matching

I used white evercoat tinted with brown. I added the tint in very small increments. Like a toothpick point worth each time. I put a dab of the mix on the boat, without the mek of course. I knew I had it right when I couldn't see the test dab. I sprayed the whole port side and came out really nice.

Overnighter rod holder & outrigger backing plates?

I'd like to add a couple gunwale mount rod holders and outriggers. I want to use backing plates but there's no access to the underside of the gunwales. Has anyone done these installs on an overnighter? There are two small inspection plates but they aren't big enough or close enough to reach my...

    Overnighter w/ Merc 150 4 stroke performance?

Has anyone re-powered their overnighter with the merc 150 4 stroke? If so what kind of performance numbers did you get? I'm going to be facing the re-power decision sooner or later. I'm still running the original 87 150 yamaha :)

    Considering a 1991 Overnighter?

I have an 87 206G. I love the boat for what it is. I had to work through a lot of manageable issues, but now all is well. I had All the issues they're known for. I replaced the through hull fittings, fixed a leak in the steering, and replace the cabin bulkhead. My gas tank needs to be watched...

I'd email Grady White and get the exact part number and manufacturer. Then locate the replacement online. I did that for my seacock.

    Prop size - overnighter 150 2s

My engine is only making 4800 RPM's and having a tough time getting up on plane w/ a crew on board. I think I'm over proped. When I test drove the boat last year the prop spun the hub. The owner replaced the prop and gave me the one w/ the spun hub. The prop on the engine is 15X17. The spun hub...

    87 overniter Floor drains/through hulls

I found the stainless through hull fittings on ebay from "halfpricemarine". I stayed w/ plastic for the cockpit floor fittings . Bought them @ iboats, part #906014. I asked grady white for replacement part numbers and they sent the original drawings w/ part numbers. Very helpful. I still have...

    Deck support

Thank you for replying! I called GW support. They said the screws put downward pressure on the lip. I thought they held the lip up. All I had to do was tighten them a few turns. I called GW on several occasions and they've been very helpful. Not even a trace of "I don't have time for...

    Deck support

I removed the deck panel over the gas tank to clean and re-seal it. I noticed that the lip of the deck between the helm seats flexed a little. The screws that go through the lip and into the wood support on the fuel tank are not fixed to the lip. The others appear to be. I'm not sure how the...
