My 86 sailfish was 125 gallon main and 75 glallon aux. Main tank being forward.

I installed the 87 in 36volt on my 1986 sailfish. It worked fine . Occasionally came out of the water in 3 to 4 ft swells.

15.25 X17 on 282 with 225 4 strokes. Should be about the same for 250"s

You might want to check the horse power rating for that year and model. Also the normal stuff like transom ,stringers. Thats a lot of weight back there.

I also run out of Cape May inlet. Routinely fish the triple wreck area in a single engine Grady. Like other have stated need good weather and well maintained boat,motor,and safety equipment. Plenty of single engine boats out there.

I have the 1986 model.Fwd main tank most likely needs to be replaced. I did all the things mentioned above and still had the fuel smell in the cabin.Replaced fill and vent hoses at the same time. SP Sheetmetal made my new tank. They are located in South Jersey.

I used 1 36 volt battery. So far so good. I use the charger that came with it and just charge the battery back up while cleaning the boat up after a trip. I have had zero issues with this setup.I installed a in line battery switch and 50 amp breaker .

I installed the 84 in 36 volt on my 86 Sailfish. Only came off anchor mode a few times in 3 seasons due to big swells. Pretty happy with performance in high current .

Ran into the same issue on my 25 sailfish. Removed the wipers. I keep windows clean and apply fleetwax several times during the season.Water beads up and visabilty is still good. Also clean eisenglass with Bo shield 210 and apply fleet wax. I think it works well.

I did. 300 Evinrude G2 on 25 Sailfish open transom. Cruise at 4600 rpm . 1.8 mpg . 13/14 gph at 24 /25 knots.

check fluid level in pump. clean all electrical connections on dashboard control switch and quick disconnect connection.
