Adding a chartplotter to my 226

I am adding a Raymarine A65 chartplotter to my boat. I have a raymarine depth/fish finder unit that I want to keep on my boat rather than replace it and have a split screen function on my chartplotter. The problem is helm space. My sonar is mounted along the centerline and if I mount the plotter...

    Gradywhite 1997 209 Escape

Is this boat located on or around lake leelanau? It sounds a lot like a boat I looked at last summer. "Pristine" or not this is the great Michigan fire sale, fair value be damned. Get it surveyed and make a lowball offer...

    Deck mat

http://www.americanfloormats.com/waterhog-classic-entrance-mats/ I'm thinking about a mat like this in blue. I can just keep it on the dock when I'm not using it.

    Deck mat

I'm looking for a deck to put on the back deck of my 226 (mainly so my boxer dog doesnt slide around). I was thinking about getting a rubber mat but I'm worried the summer heat might melt it to the fiberglass. Does anyone have any good recommendations for a deck mat?

    BA voyager speaker covers

Does anyone know a decent way to remove the speaker covers on Boston acoustics voyager speakers? I know a few people on here have them on their boats. I just got my boat out of storage and noticed that something was spilled on one of them and I want to clean the grill but I can’t get the cover...

    Adventurer vs Seafairer

I'm going to second (or third) the comment about the Gulf. I love my 226 but I saw a Seafarer and a Gulfstream side by side at the detroit boat show last weekend and the beam alone made me jealous. For me, thats the next boat... although thats several years down the road.

1983 Seafarer 226 what do you think of the open transom

I've only had my 226 for half a season but it was actually very dry comp to some other 20-24 CC's and walkarounds I've been on. ^That would be my main concern with the transom. I looked at a mid 80s Seafarer and it was totally rotten.

    Remembering the Edmund Fitzgerald

Work keeps me away from these forums far too often. Pyramid point is two peninsulas to our north east. Beautiful spot, I’ve been on the bluffs to watch a storm come in before… amazing. Sounds like a decent read, I’ll have to raid amazon to see if I can find it.

    Remembering the Edmund Fitzgerald

Yeah, that bay is CRAZY deep! Our cottage is on the mainland side in sleeping bear bay. The bay is very sheltered with the dunes and hills but the weather can change very quickly and I don't trust my boat out there over the night. Glen Arbor has a ramp but when the wind is coming out of the...

    Remembering the Edmund Fitzgerald

It may have been in the 50's when it wrecked. I don't know for sure. Yeah, that would be a dangerous wreck to set foot on. You are more daring than I. Of course maybe it was more intact in the early 80s compared to when I saw it a few years back. I'm planning on trailering up there again next...

    Remembering the Edmund Fitzgerald

Interesting links I love this kind of stuff. Has anyone seen the freighter that ran aground on South Manitou Island in Lake Michigan? It hit another wreck and lost steering before running aground in the 1960s. The back is broken and it’s in a couple pieces now but you can still see parts of the...

    A Sad Sight!

My boat is away in storage too. It was a total buzz kill. I went into the storage shed and had a beer or two on her and cleaned her up a bit. Of course the cleaning won't do any good with all the diesel soot but whatever. It was an awesome summer. I cant wait until next year! The money I save...

    Cleaning Gradys..

I get yelled at regularly for cleaning my boat while I anchor or raft off with friends. I keep a small plastic trash can with some clean rags, a bottle of roll off (love that stuff), a dirty tooth brush, and some windex next to the pass seat. Saturday I was sitting on the beach, having a few...

    Great weekend on the water

Yeah Magicbill, I love the flats. Its a very cool area. After we left the moot Sunday I took a nice slow cruise around. I love going back into all the little cuts and bays. Jekyl our boating season in Michigan ends with ice. Global warming permitting we should have an awesome...

    Great weekend on the water

This past weekend was by far my best time on the water all summer. I took the Grady to a friends cottage on Harsens island on Lake St. Clair. We had six boats up there total and it was a blast. The boat ran AMAZING. It feels like it rides smoother and better every time I take her out. The...

    speaker mount

My hard top doesn't have enough room for the BA speaker pods. Its a clearance issue in some areas and its the lack of something to mount them to in another. I have them under the cup holders by the helm, where my old speaker pods were. Not exactly where I wanted them but I'm happy with the...
