    Battery Charging

Owners option. We leave both batteries in the on position. One is dedicated for the port engine and the other is starboard and the electronic (there is a third too). We keep cold drinks in the fridge too.

new member 265 express backing up question

I've got an 03 265 with F225s and a counter rotating port prop. If there is no wind I can back in with just throttles. If the wind is up, I've got to use the wheel. Like anything new it will take some practice. Make sure the tabs are up and the engines all the way down. As for the zukes...

Easiest way is to pull the entire plate - we ended up taking it to a glass shop and having a hinge put in. Access no longer an issue.

    265 fold down transom

Any owners with rod holders in their fold down transom? As you know, they are great for a cutting board but not much else. After ripping out a rod holder, tearing the unit apart and having it glassed, to only have it rip out again made me think over the winter. Pics to follow but I got two...

Appreciate the feedback, thanks! You see any unusual spider cracks by the aft cleats? Only thing that didn't look great. The drain scuppers for the deck drains seem a tad low too but not a deal breaker. I like the idea of moving the batteries to inside the console. Where did you end up...

For Our Members Who Do Their Own Engine Work

Depends on the bolt? Zinc bolt for the engine, yes the anti-seize that you can take apart, I think we call old guys call it red, its not grease. For any other bolt, a nice coating of Merc marine 24C grease. Got that advice from a Yammy mechanic I am friends with.
