    Captains chair wobbles

Seat squeaks I had the same problem on my Marlin with deluxe seats. Tried everthing, tightened everythng. Nothing worked. Finally, decided to go other way and loosened knob and it worked! Tighten just enough so seat doesn't wobble excessibly and stop. A little wobble is better than a lot...

    Crocker's Marine Closing?

I've heard rumors, Crocker Marine in Wilmington, NC has or will close it's doors? What a shame if it's true. A great Grady dealer that's an institution in the area! Wonder who and where GW will sign up a new dealer?

    Yamaha F225 Problems?

Thanks Guys for the responses. It seems no one on this site has had this problem. That's encouraging. I also bet Grady owners in general are pretty anal about taking care of our rigs.

    2004 F225 Lower unit problem?

While performing my annual tune up, my Grady dealer said the lower unit lube was cloudy in both motors and replaced the drive shaft oil seals under warranty. Two months later, I wrap some mono around one prop. Decided to drain a little lube oil to make sure ok. Lube oil was cloudy. To be...

Bow Thruster - Spares you need.

bow thruster I had the same problem at about the same time. I wonder if 2 years is the average life span of the shear pin inside? If so, I probably need to replace mine again on my 2004.

    Grady v. Scout

GW 23 I owned a GW 23 for 3 years before I moved up to Marlin 30. In my opinion, the GW 23 is the most versatile and safest boat made under 26 feet. The hull and extra width provide a margin of safety and solid ride that can't be matched by any 8'6" hull, including other GW models. The cabin...

    232 Gulfstream trailering

Gulfstream trailering I've owned both models, you can't go wrong with either. However, keep in mind the Gulfstream exceeds maximum legal trailering width for most states and will require a special permit. Check your state laws.

    Battery-size for an 04 Marlin

New Batteries The batteries you need are high capacity starting batteries. Here's the West Marine # followed by the Deca #: GW cautions against using dual purpose or deep cycle. 5817861 27M6 I'm replacing mine now, the old batteries are fine, just don't want to take a chance 60 miles...

    Replacing Batteries

My Marlin has 4 batteries wired so that there are two BANKS. Each BANK is made up of two paired batteries that are wired in parallel. This means the positive terminals are wired together and the negative terminals are wired together. This forms a BANK of batteries. By sharing the current...

    Replacing Batteries

First, I am not mixing old and new batteries on same bank. I will install two new batteries on bank 1 this year and two new ones on bank 2 next year. Also, I don't draw down my batteries for extended periods of time. I'm either under power, on generator, or hooked up to shore power...

    Replacing Batteries

Thanks for the feedback. One surprising thing I discovered in my research is that the original batteries in my 2004 Marlin are group 27 STARTING BATTERIES. I called Grady White Customer Relations and they comfirmed this. Said Grady and Deca worked with Yamaha in their development. Grady also...

    Replacing Batteries

While I haven't had any trouble yet, I'm thinking of replacing the batteries in my 2004 Marlin, 450 hours. To spread out the cost a little, would it be ok/wise to replace two batteries on the same bank this year and the other two next year? The starboard battery switch is on 2 and the port on...

Use of Yamaha Ring Free - Good Results

Ring Free How about 4 strokes? I've been using it, but always question whether its needed or not on my F225's. Dealer first said not needed, than said it should be used in all Yamaha's.

    Helm air

This unit is not the one you mount in your hatch. It is a normal marine a/c unit that gets its power from a 12 volt battery bank It uses an inverter to convert to AC. Cost about $2600. Would have install expense and cost of batteries. Added all together it would not be anywhere near cost of...

    Helm air

All good questions Brian. Here's a little more info. I only need 2-3 hours of cooling for the runs back from Gulfstream or cruising to Southport in the hot part of summer. If this unit will cool us off a little in the helm area I'll figure out the rest. I have factory air now but I've...

    Helm air

Has anyone tried the 12v Cruisair Cuddy ac? I'm wondering if it is strong enough to cool my Marlin helm area with the curtains down. The add says it will run 4 hours on two group 31's. Since I don't have a gen, I have lots of room for batteries.
