    Help with changing an impeller

In addition to my GW I have a 1987 Bass Tracker w/ a 35HP Mercury two stroke. Over the weekend I noticed the tell tale was non existent @ idle and only came up at higher RPM. Time to change the impeller. Is this a difficult job I should hire out or can I do it myself? I'm mechanically inclined...

Grady White Customer Service Does it Again

I E-Mailed GW customer service yesterday asking them what they recommended to clean the armrests on my Pompanette Deluxe I helm chair. They're kind of grimy and I can't seem to get them to come clean with any of my usual cleaning materials. Here's the E-Mail they sent me today. Hello Chris...

    Boat Waxing

Armauro, I have used both Rejex and Collonite 885 and I prefer Collonite. Rejex is fine on a perfect surface but Collonite fills in little scratches and cleans little dirty spots better than Rejex. I'm in freshwater and store my boat inside but Collonite 885 is the best wax I've ever used in 22...

    New 350 Yamaha

I use Ring Free and Stor'n Start and 89 octane gas religiously in my F250. Wouldn't have it any other way. Way too big an investment to cheap out on the gas or additives

    T223 with F225 Performance Question

I agree w/ Jim in GA. My 225 w/ F250 shows very little difference whether I have bimini or canvas up. There's something else going on. Remember the rule, if you go higher pitch you lower max RPM and if you go lower pitch you raise RPM. Good luck with your diagnosis.

    Which one? 232Gulfstream -vs- BW23Conquest -vs- Shamrock246

I've not owned the 23 Conquest but I did have a 2002 21' Outrage before I bought my 2008 Tournament 225 and let me assure you that the GW is light years ahead of BW when it comes to the ride. My Outrage had what BW considered it's deep vee hull which is more than the Conquest has and the GW is...

    BoatersWorld sinking fast

I don't know if it's true or not , but the guy @ the online Boater's World said only the brick and mortar stores were closing. He told me the on line operation was not affected and it was business as usual for them. I guess only time will tell. Has anyone heard any different?

    22 seafarer Outboard bracket

If it's a 228 it probably has the same bracket as my 225 which is made by Gill. Sorry I don't have anymore specifics but I'm sure GW customer could give you all the details. Good luck!

    50th Anniversary Video and Story

I watched the video the other day and it is a great historical perspective on the company. I encourage all my friends @ Great Grady to watch it. It's great.

    232 Gulfstream trailering

I agree with the others. I tow my '08 225 w/ a GMC Sierra 1500 4x4. The 225 is the same hull as the 226/228. I regularly go 150 miles one way to Cumberland and then back home. If I were towing anything any bigger I would go with the 2500 w/ Duramax and Allison transmission. I wish I had bought...

    Nextrail trailers?

Brad, Eagle DID go out of business for a while sometime between 2002 when I bought one for my previous Boston Whaler and 2008 when I bought my new one for my Tournamnet 225. They were in Wyandotte, MI originally then re-opened in Homer, MI. They are now in Humboldt, Iowa and I believe they are...

    GW Dealer pricing mystery

Megabytes is right when he says there are early season incentives. My point is that every dealer is treated the same on price on a given model if they order the boats at the same point in time. Big dealers do not get any better price than a small dealer at any given point in the model year. My...

    GW Dealer pricing mystery

There is a published list from Grady White of MSRP prices on the boat and all the accessories that are factory installed. I found that out last year when I was pricing my Tournament 225. Ask your dealer to show it to you. Grady does set model year prices in the summer and then usually raises...

Another JD Power Award for the trophy case

I love my 08 Tournament 225. I owned two Boston Whalers from 1987 until 2008 and they too are well built, quality boats. The one place I think GW outshines BW is in the ride. The C Raymond Hunt Assoc Sea V2 hull put the Whalers to shame. I personally would be proud to own either company's boat...

    CV2

I don't know the technical answer, but I can tell you that it was designed by C. Raymond Hunt & Assoc which practically invented the deep V hull. One of the reasons I bought the Grady was that it put my Boston Whaler to shame as far as the ride goes. There was no comparison as to how the two...

Through-Hull vs. Transom Mounted Transducer for 228 Seafarer

Re: Through-Hull vs. Transom Mounted Transducer for 228 Seaf If you call GW customer service they will give you the preferred location for the shoot thru transducer. I went through the same debate last spring on my 08 Tournament 225 and went with the transom mount. It was cheaper and more...

    Towing weight for Seafarer 226

I have a 2008 Tournament 225 w/ F 250. It's the same hull but 60 lbs lighter dry weight. I towed it 365 miles back from dealer when I bought it and regularly tow it 150 miles one way to Lake Cumberland. I tow it w/ 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 4X4 5.3L V-8. My trailer has elec/hyd disc brakes which make...

Fiberglass/gelcoat repair shop near Richmond, VA?

Why don't you get in touch with Southeast Marine in Richmond. Everybody on this forum says great things about them. I'm sure they could refer you to a reputable repair shop. I have spoken to Mickey Brown there and he is a wonderful young man and the owner's son.
