    30 Marlin with F225's

Came across an '03 Marlin with F 225's on it. Looking for anyone who has run one with these, I know they were on a lot of Marlin's and the also the 33 Express' for a while before the 250's came out. The owner said he runs about 18 mph at 3600 RPM, I don't like the sound of that. I'd probably...

    shrink rap or not

I agree, I have seen nothing yet that, other than shrink wrap, that has been able to deal with an 18-24" snowfall without a problem. I was looking into buying a fitted/custom winter cover, for my 272 Sailfish it would be around $2200 and they say it is good for 8-10 years. My boat costs $300...

    Used Grady Parts

Wondering if anyone knows a place online that sells parts for older Grady's or really if anything like that exists. I need a box cover on the port side of my 1996 272 Sailfish. It was busted up and delaminated when I bought the boat 3 years ago, about the only thing not in great shape, and has...

Got the call Yamaha F225 owners dread

2002 - 2005 in the F225. My brother has twin '05's, and they are rotten. I've heard if the bottom of the powerhead/mating surface gets corroded too bad, it's new powerhead time. I know it can be welded, but you have to find someone that can do it. I guy I know who has done A LOT of them, said...

    shrink rap or not

100% agree. I'm in NY too (LI) and just the icing and thawing of water and/or snow on the deck, gunwales, ect.., can eventually cause issues. Even if it's below freezing outside, the sun blaring down on it will cause the melting and re-freezing. I've seen decks lifted too, but more so have...

    F225 Corrosion

You're gonna get way more info on this over at The Hull Truth. There are A LOT of threads on the F225 corrosion there, many with pictures and in depth tear down explanations, not to mention a lot of Yami experts on that site. You'll find every answer there, probably without even posting, just...

    Cabin hatch lock/lever mechanism

Been trying to find this for a while now. Spoke with Grady who told me that it was a part that was sourced from Perko originally and gave me the discontinued Perko part #, told me to call Perko to see if there was a newer part #. Called Perko and all they did was tell me that the part # was...

    Cabin hatch lock/lever mechanism

Nothing to drill out, it's a plastic stem that is attached to a handle, you turn the handle and the stem turns the mechanism to unlock the hatch so it can be lowered. The stem cracked off and is down inside the locking/unlocking/slide mechanism.

    Cabin hatch lock/lever mechanism

'96 Sailfish 27...the mechanism that you use to lock the cabin hatch up and then twist the knob to release snapped on me, won't release to I had to take it off. The plastic knob that you turn to release snapped internally so you can't get it to release now. Where would I find one of them as a...

    '96 27 Sailfish - Dumb Question

Thanks guys, I'll take a look. Anyone ever pull antifreeze up through there for winterizing the head or does that part drain out sufficiently when the boat is out of the water?

    '96 27 Sailfish - Dumb Question

Had the boat pulled out for a few hours last week to have a new transducer installed and was looking around the bottom and cannot find where the raw water intake is for the head. Boat is new to me this season so it's the first time I've looked for it....was just looking out of curiosity and...

    27 Sailfish vs. 28 Sailfish

Thank you very much for clarifying. I didn't think they'd re-design and entire boat just to add 1'. I figured it was more design changes if anything, such as the running surface change. Thanks for the info.

    1996 27 Sailfish fuel capacity

Great, thanks for the info. I knew it had to be more than 170 gallons combined, especially considering most, if not all, of the 272 years were when carbed engines would've been rigged to them.

    Re-powering 1996 Sailfish 272

I've got the same hull, same year with a pair of '04 Evinrude DI 200's and it beats my friends '05 282 with twin Yami F225's. Better hole shot and higher top speed.

    Blow by and Yamaha 250-

I've never really understood how ring free would work on a 4 stroke. 2 stroke makes sense, but in a 4 stroke it seems to me an oil additive would work better to control carbon around rings. I can see it cleaning up valves and seats, but I don't see how it would be effective in a 4 stroke...

    1996 27 Sailfish fuel capacity

Bought this boat early this summer and love it. It has the Main and Reserve fuel tanks and I'm just wondering what the sizes are on each. The PO told me the Main was 120 gallons and the Reserve was 50 gallons, but I think he was guessing. I haven't used the Reserve and don't plan to, as I...

    27 Sailfish vs. 28 Sailfish

What are the major differences, is it basically cosmetic? I've seen both and I can see the obvious differences at the helm and in the cabin, also noticed they moved the transom door to the port side from starboard, took out the rear bench seat and made it a cooler instead. But did they make...
