Hydraulic hose length for Adventure 208 installation

I mounted the AP motor high on the short perpendicular wall too the right of the wheel. I mounted the computer in side the cabin below the light. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that the AP hoses came with the Lowrance unit. I don't remember buying extra hoses.

Hydraulic hose length for Adventure 208 installation

I performed the same upgrade on my 97/208 last spring, I used 20' hoses. I love the auto pilot for trolling for walleyes. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

    Gas before or after storage

I have done about the same thing for the last 24 years without any problems. I have always used Prig-g gas treatment with every fillup. I rebuilt my carbs about three years ago. I found zero buildups of any kind in the fuel lines. I have always thought that starting out with fresh gas was the...

Upgrade to hydraulic or electric steering systems

The helm pump, which the wheel attaches to is needed. Be careful when attaching the hose fittings. Do not over tighten, use the lock nuts in order to stop the fittings from moving.

Upgrade to hydraulic or electric steering systems

I installed Seastar hydraulic steering and Lowrance autopilot on my 208 this past spring. I didn't have enough room for the mechanical autopilot. So I converted to hydraulic. Have fun it's not that hard. If you have any questions about the installation, feel free to ask. I really love it and...

    How to remove birds

I have found that hanging old cd's from a line around and on my boat works great at keeping the birds at bay. Birds hate the flashes they make and do not stick around. I learned this trick off of THT forum. I have tried owls and other tricks without much success.

    ECOS Switch lanyard length

Is there any requirement on how long an ECOS lanyard can be? I doubled mine in order to move around the boat a little. I always seem to forget that I have it attached when I'm docking or slowing down to troll. Killing the engine at a most inopportune time. Causing unneeded problems and possible...

    Raising outboard at the dock.

My boat stays in the water throughout the summer. I keep my outboard trimmed up out of the (fresh) water when I am not there. This leaves my trim rods extended. If I retract the rods and let the motor rest on the support arms, the tip of the lower unit is in the water. My question is which...

Too Short to See Over Windshield! Step Suggestions?

I own a 97 208 Adventure and suffered the same problem being 5'7". I found a helm step for mine years ago which works great. I don't think that they make it anymore. You might look into a custom helm riser from Boat Outfitters or something similar. I modified mine in order to get the right height.

    Auto pilot and connected main/kicker?

I just finished my AP project on my 208. I had cable steering so purchased a Lowrance cable steer AP unit. Then I discovered that I did not have room for it under the helm. I would have had to cut a hole in the cabin wall for it to fit. I returned the unit and purchased a hydraulic AP. I...

    208 Battery question

I use a deep cycle and a cranking battery connected to a Guest switch. I try to go out and come in on different batteries or switch on different days. I generally try to run my electronics off my deep cycle while trolling. Avoid running on both if possible. You want to have two good batteries at...
