Deck drains / upgrade from the 2 piece white plastic

I used the low profile version from Gemlux, fit pretty good and seems to be a quality made piece. https://gemlux.com/collections/boat-deck-drains

    Cockpit drains...

might be able to contact gemlux and see if they'll sell any of their deck drain covers without the fitting https://gemlux.com/collections/boat-deck-drains

Vinyl with spots on helm arms

gotta agree with the Starbrite Mildew Stain Remover, that stuff really works effortlessly. I've got a canvas top that gets those black mold spots all over it every few months despite treating with marine water proof and uv inhibitors. Just part of storing a boat outside in FL.

    24 Offshore bracket options

Sounds like you've got the Armstrong bracket, if the transom angle doesn't work out consider A&J, they're in S FL. I picked up an A&J bracket for my 24 Offshore a couple years ago, very happy with it and their service, they'll work with you on dimensions, etc.

    cleaning boat

There should be a long uninterrupted 3/4" pvc drain that goes from the cabin area bilge all the way back to the rear bilge. Plus a 2nd short pvc pipe between the two fuel tank compartments, and a 3rd short 1" pvc drain between the rear fuel compartment and the rear bilge that goes through the...

    2000 Tournament 192

The big 4 bow bimini tops are pretty nice and fold up just as neatly as a smaller 3 bow, just make sure to stick with the lighter colors I had a navy blue bimini that was like a heater in the summer time in S FL. And make sure you get the height you need as well. The bang plate is the plate that...

    Scupper and Scupper Hose Replacement

did this same project last year, the deck drains basically disintegrated while trying to get the hoses off so be ready to replace those too. Found some nice deck drains from gemlux, they're stainless but not submerged enough to worry about it. https://gemlux.com/collections/boat-deck-drains

    Soft spot !

Git Rot works pretty good too, very thin resin it'll soak it's way into the core nicely then harden. And pick up some cheap syringes from your local drug store. https://www.amazon.com/Boat-Life-Git-Rot-Penetrating-Epoxy/dp/B00144EN3Q

Are stainless steel brakes worth the extra $?

just replaced the brakes on both axles of my trailer - the rotors were in very bad shape, the brake pads with kodiak 'coated' steel backing plates were really bad to the point as the rust grows it would push the pads into the rotors causing the brakes to drag after the trailer had been sitting...

    re-mount bracket for 30" motor?

agree w both the replies above, but I've got the unique situation of having a new bracket that hasn't been mounted yet and the bolt holes for the new transom definitely don't line up with the old bracket holes. Was thinking of mounting it higher, I'll need to measure the height where the...

    re-mount bracket for 30" motor?

I've got a 1990 Grady Offshore 242g factory bracket boat, these were setup for a 25" lower unit. I'm about to replace the bracket that I had built for the 25" motor I've got but just ran across a deal I might not be able to pass up on a 30" motor. The bracket for the 25" motor is supposed to be...

    Unbelievable product

It is some good stuff for removing tuff stains. Be sure to wax the boat really good after using as it'll leave the gelcoat unprotected & even more prone to staining.

    Won't start on #2 battery

You've checked batt. voltage at the batteries and they seemed fine, have you checked voltage at the starter motor? See if theres a difference between when the batt. switch is at (1) vs. (2) position. Could be a slightly bad connection at the switch, doesn't take much of a drop in voltage to keep...

    sea deck prices

In the mean time - some of the large kitchen mats from walmart work pretty good for cushion and grip. Roll em up & store them in a big storage tote until next time. Your dog will appreciate it, just doesn't look as fancy.

    1996 Johnson 225 alarm

I've got a 1996 Johnson 225 Ocean Runner. Has been a reliable engine for the past 2 years, last trip out the warning horn was 'faintly' chirping, on for a second then off for a second, I throttled back to idle speed, horn quit but would come on again faintly at a fast idle then get louder as I...

Need advice on buying a Grady

owner of a 1990 Offshore 242g, factory closed transom with a single 225. It's not a speedy boat but it'll get you there, 250 would be better, 300 perfect. The cockpit layout as you probably already know is generally the same as the Seafarer, and I think the cabin sizes are the same just moved...

    Advice on raising scuppers?

the deck drains in the back corners have a 90 degree fitting on them that control how high the outlet hose ends up, on my grady the hose is pretty much level from that fitting to the transom scupper so really no use raising the scupper or you'll end up with a deck drain thats trying to drain uphill.

    Losing RPM

another guess - when you're running and the problem shows up, is the ride getting a little bumpy? could be a fuel fitting, filter housing, or something like that is cracked but only enough to suck air when the ride gets rough.
