Flush Mount Remote Control Freedom 205

Pete from Grady White responded already. He said, the only way is to remove the bulkhead in the console and gain access there. So it looks like I will replace the throttle cable too while I am at it, being it will have to be removed to pull the box forward. My Goodness!

Flush Mount Remote Control Freedom 205

I just emailed Grady Technical Support. Hopefully they can help but I'm not holding my breath.

Flush Mount Remote Control Freedom 205

Been awhile since I posted here but I need some good advice. Getting my boat ready to go and realize I need a new shift cable. Done this years before on a previous boat where the control box was on the outside. Well this one, the controls are flush mounted with the box on the inside. Dumbfounded...

    2008 Grady-White Tournament 275 - good boat?

2008 for a Grady is not all that old, many older ones still in use today. Obviously, things to consider though is the condition of the boat and how well it was taken care of. If it was kept in the water most of its life vs being trailered would be more concerning. If the price is right, hire a...

What was last year for Tournament, first for Freedom?

Mine is a 2011 Freedom; prior to that was the Tournament.

Hard Top vs Bimini for Freedom 235

Hardtop with curtains, that's what makes these DC's superior to CC's IMO. Don't always have fair seas and nice weather out on the water.

    Salt water

Funny Grady and saltwater. But seriously if you are going to leave it in the saltwater without bottom paint, pull it at least once a week and clean the bottom. Depending on, you may get a start of barnacle growth and discoloration but it is doable and may require a product like Starbrite Hull...

    Towing Capacity

Thanks, that is a lot of boat there. Make sure your trailer brakes are working properly every time you get on the road.

    Towing Capacity

For discussion sake, maybe you can explain more. This is a pic I took of my truck hitch. Without a WDH it is only rated for 5K with a tongue weight of 500 lbs.

    Towing Capacity

Back to my example. No you can't tow a 9K boat with a half ton truck rated at 10K without exceeding your hitch capacity. The hitch is most likely only rated for 500 lbs without a WDH and the trailer tongue weight of a 9K boat is probably around 800 to 900 lbs. Not to mention you will most likely...

    Towing Capacity

This is a topic discussed quite frequently on RV and P/U truck forums and is widely misunderstood. For example: someone has a truck with a 10K towing capacity and thinks they can tow a 9K boat with room to spare because the salesman told him so.

    Black mildew

Part of my reply was, when the other stuff doesn't do the job the Nautical One does. I've tried the other products like Starbrite and 303.

    Black mildew

Count me in as a believer. This stuff works great, where nothing else did. Expensive but my bolsters and cushions haven't looked this good in years.

2017 Freedom 205 Water under port bow storage

I have a 2011 205 Freedom and I can confirm this compartment is far from watertight. Wish It was because this is the storage for the lifejackets and curtains.

    Red Button in Bilge

What exactly is this red button inboard of the battery switch for? I always assumed it was an emergency cut off switch but not 100% sure. Thanks

    205 Freedom instrument panel

I have a 205 Freedom and yes everything is hard to see when operating this boat. When standing you have to look down taking your eye off the wheel. Otherwise still love this boat, it is a beast for a 20 footer.

    205 Curtain Set on CL

Thanks, I may have been interested. But the vinyl looks really yellow and there is no way to get that out. I guess you could get the vinyl replaced but at that cost plus 400.00 for something at least 13 years old I don't know.

    Bimini Attachment

One thing to always check before trailering or getting underway is to make sure the retaining pins are seated in all the way. These things have a tendency of working themselves out over time.
