Me too! The arm rests have disintegrated into dry, chunks. Really looks awful. I've only ever cleaned them with fresh water, so I think they were just plain defective from the factory. My boat is in for service right now...I'm going to ask the dealer about what they can do for me.

I'm a big Furuno fan. Simply the best your money can buy. Not cheap, but the it's the best.

You betcha! I love my boat. It's been relatively trouble free and extremely safe. Sure I've had some minor problems, but my local Grady dealer has always been there to make things right (even long after it was out of warranty).

Very true. We've had two capsize here in Northern California in very ugly seas. In both cases, the boats floated very well (both boats were towed-in long after the respective tragedies). I hope to God I never have to prove this point in my 228, but it's comforting to know that it will stay...

What I do is call all of the local Yamaha motorcycle dealerships. Most of them carry ringfree and often I get a great price...particularly if I buy a gross of the stuff.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me about two years ago. I put some yamaha ringfree in the tank and let the Racor do its job. Never had a problem. A little water in not a big deal...relax and don't be hard on yourself.
