Grady 228 - Bow Ladder for Launch and Retrieve

that first one is pretty pricey. I think the d-link (3rd one) might work - need to get some measurements of distance from trailer to bow.

Cuddy size difference between 208 and 226?

not sure about the size diff between the 226 & 228 cabin. I can tell you that at 6'2" I fit snugly, but do fit, along with wife and dog ;-) Not saying it's huge - doable for one or two nights. Couldn't do that in the 208.

Grady 228 - Bow Ladder for Launch and Retrieve

LOL, I can see that others have done the same gymnastics I have when loading/unloading. Here are a few things I am looking at - just not sure it would work, given the distance and the pulpit: https://www.easystepsystem.com...

    New to me 228

practice reverse - you'll have to trim up pretty high to get a good bite. Boat crabs a bit on the quartering seas. Overall, an excellent all-around hull.

Cuddy size difference between 208 and 226?

can't comment on the 226, but my 228 has a significantly bigger cabin than the 208 I had before I got the 228. It was a stretch to call the 208 cabin as a space for 2 adults - the 228 sleeps 2 adults comfortably.

Grady 228 - Bow Ladder for Launch and Retrieve

Hello all, Love my 228! That being said, I need some ideas for a ladder I can either hook to the bow rail or permanently attach to my trailer to help me get on and off when launching and retrieving. You guys know the drill, back it down, get on it (this is where the ladder comes in), start...

Hull bottom and specs on Grady 228.

appreciate it everyone. It is Owens - they have a great reputation, and I shouldn't worry, but why not do some digging on my end, right? Handinpalm, if it wouldn't be too much trouble to post a picture, that would be great.

Hull bottom and specs on Grady 228.

appreciate it, parthery. I should have thought of that. Builder says if it's a SeaV2 22' walk around, the specs and details haven't changed and that he's built many trailers for these hulls. I'm just being paranoid.

Hull bottom and specs on Grady 228.

Hello everyone, I've having a trailer built for my 2005 228. The builder is out of state, so he can't take measurements. Have the specifications or hull bottom details changed from 2005 to now? I know it's a SeaV2, but have chine and strake design changed? I sent him a link to the specs for the...

228 with an F250 - sitting a bit low in the water

Could not agree more on bottom painting the skeg - dealer (who originally sold it new to current owner) said "what's the big deal?" LOL, they always try to make it look like you're a landlubber who doesn't know what he's talking about :-| Another thing - the batteries in the stern could be...

228 with an F250 - sitting a bit low in the water

thanks all. I appreciate it. I won't discount this particular boat because of this issue. I have a couple of follow-up questions: if the f250 and the f225 weigh the same, I should expect most similar aged 228 Gradys with the f225 to sit the same way, correct? How much difference is there between...

228 with an F250 - sitting a bit low in the water

I took a look at an 05 228 with a Yamaha f250. Boat is nice and well-maintained. I noticed something I thought odd: the skeg had been bottom painted on an angle right to the water intake for the water pump. Broker said yes, the skeg is partially submerged when she's in the water, but all Gradys...

Hatch Cover for my 1993 208?

All, My 1993 208 needs a cabin hatch cover (the small cover you can open from inside the cabin that forms part of the bow seating area). Grady is closed this week, so I didn't call them. I've heard through a dealer that they only keep stocked parts for hulls 10 years old and newer. Can...

    Parts for a 208

All, Wondering what's the best way to get a new cuddy hatch for my 93 208. Also looking for new pop-up access hatches that cover the gas tank and splashwell. Boston Mass area. Many thanks! Joe 1993 208 (third owner) 2007 ETEC 200 hp 2.6 Liter 333 hours. 42 MPH. full enclosure, outriggers...

208 owners - do you use Sea Sucker Mounts?

yeah, I did a little research and call sea sucker. I'm not convinced that I should trust my $800.00 ipad to one of these mounts. With the pounding and vibrations, I just don't see it as being 100% reliable. I decided on a ram bar mount - that grab bar is right there, so why not? I went with the...

208 owners - do you use Sea Sucker Mounts?

I'm going to start using my iPad on my 208. I'll be mounting it to the left of the steering wheel, behind the grab bar that's above the cuddy door. That surface is slightly tacky - think the sea sucker will hold there? Follow-up question is if you do use the iPad on the boat, what waterproof...

What color sunbrella for my canvas?

Greetings, I own a 1993 208 that has been mostly trailer kept and is in excellent shape. Has a 2007 Etec on it. Boat also has a full enclosure and canvas top which are being replaced. My question is, what color do you suppose would work best? I'd like a shade of blue, but I don't want to select...

New Through-hull fittings Cape Cod, Mass.

All, I have a 1993 208. Hull is in good shape as the boat was kept on a trailer for most of its life. I have some water getting into the hull, and I think I should just replace all the thruhulls as a starting point since they are due. Can someone direct me to a good hull man on the Cape? I...

Why do I have to spend an arm and a leg to get a seat?

thanks fellas. I think I am going to be limited by the space at the helm. the wise seats might fit the bill, but at 22" wide, not sure. I'll measure up and we'll see.
