    Yamaha motor Cowl cleaning

Seen Penatrol used quite often to brighten up a sun-bleached engine cowl. Let it sit overnight, wipe off residue and put on a coat of wax. Not perfect but looks pretty good and lasts a while.

    OX66 RPMS dropping???

Man, back to back spam posts, dang, Did give me a chance to re-read the thread. Alarm at low speed, overheat alarm? This is the classic case of the PRV valve. The old style was prone to failure and they upgraded it to a mushroom shaped valve. Inexpensive repair and easily a DIY job just take...

Yam aux charge lead for my house battery

After running the house down I need to do something. The Yam cable kit is expensive and I'd like to make my own lead. What gauge cable should be used? Looks like about a 6' run. Looks like the red aux lead is about 8 or 10 gauge. And that's it right? It already has it's own fuse. Any...

    Just purchased a F26

Compression looks great. If the engines seem to be running good I would suspect props. Are they stainless or aluminum? Are they dinged? Tweeked? Need to get RPM's over 5000, 5500 is better.

Bringing this to the top because I've put this off long enough and need to do it this year. Robert, how did you get the vinyl trim to stick to this inside corners?

    Just purchased a F26

Your going to love the boat. The steering is a bit of a PIA. It usually needs to be synced every time you use the boat. I'd do a complete service on the engines and pull out the oil tanks, flush them out, and replace the filters. Might want to do a compression check to see where your are...

    engine mounting height

Dredging this up. My engines are in the second hole from the top and my cave plates are still buried. Winged Pig, or any other 272 owner with OX66's can you see your cav plate when on plane? If so how many bars of trim are you using? This has been bothering me for ages and I read this article...

    low compression on 2 cylinders

My bottom 2 just tested lower that the other 4. 120lbs on 1-4 and 115lbs on 5 & 6. I've also read that is normal but don't know why.

    Brass Drain Install

Mine came with the bronze flared drains and I did exactly like the OP and had to buy the long ones and cut them down. They corrode right at the flare and if they weren't caulked in good you have the chance of water in the wood. Actually I was thinking the plastic drains would be better if they...

    Brass Drain Install

Same here. I wish I would have checked ebay before buying the flaring tool new. I got rid of the Grady flap and got a generic that fit right up.
