    Autopilot for Marlin

Raymarine currently. Just a 7" combo unit and a 7" dragonfly, (which i hate). The A7D unit reads great with the original through hull transducer. I would probably upgrade soon.

    Autopilot for Marlin

What autopilot's are you running for a Grady White Marlin? Just spoke to BOE marine and they recommended the Simrad AP44 with the RPU160 pump. A lot of my inboard boat friends are running the Raymarine EV-200 with a type 1 pump. They said that pump would be undersized for my outboards and...

    Refrigerator Replacement 2000 Marlin

Update, replaced the fridge with a Isotherm Cruise 49. I did not have to do any modifications to the existing space, just plug and play like liinw8 said. The new fridge has much more room inside than the old fridge. Hopefully I get 18 years out of this fridge also. Thanks for all the...

    Refrigerator Replacement 2000 Marlin

Just tested the thermostat at home. It read 2.2 ohms in the off position and 1.8 ohms in the on position. It will still light up when I had it plugged into the fridge so I'm thinking there may be another problem. Any more suggestions? John

    Refrigerator Replacement 2000 Marlin

Hi all, After 18 years the refrig. finally crapped out. There is a Norcold DC-440 in there currently. I haven't read to many good reviews on the new Norcold refrigerators, made overseas I think. Does anyone know of a direct replacement to the old Norcold fridge? It looks like Dometic makes...

    Marlin Prop size

I run 17M Saltwater Series 2 props on my 2000 Marlin. Cruise 4200 rpm at 30 mph, top out 5600 rpm at 44-45 mph depending on the day and load. John

Transom Mount Transducer on 2000 Grady Marlin

Thanks for the reply Tom. I really only care about low speed for trolling and the extra GPS for back up. How did you run your wiring to the transducer? Did you drill a hole through the transom or go out through the plate in the motor well and over the back of the transom between the engines...

Transom Mount Transducer on 2000 Grady Marlin

Hey everyone, I couldn't pass up a black friday deal on a Raymarine Dragonfly Pro 7. I currently have a Raymarine A series unit connected to the through hull transducer. The new unit has down vision and chirp but it comes with a transom mount transducer. First, will the new unit interfere...

    Show Us Your Grady

Reeljoy2, I also have a 2000 Grady White Marlin that I'm considering re-powering. I'm on Lake Ontario in Rochester, NY and this kind of re-power is not very common up here. I'm actually taking a hard look at the Honda 250 hp because they do not need to re-drill the transom because they're on...

    Jabsco Electric Head Problems

Lundinroof, Do you remember where you purchased the motor from and how much? Was it the whole kit for $300+? John

    Jabsco Electric Head Problems

Hey everyone, I know this has been discussed a few times but I just need some more clarification. I have a 2000 Marlin with a Jabsco Electric Macerator Head. This summer it would work intermittently. Almost never when on 12 volt battery power alone. I would need to be plugged into shore...

    Yamaha SS 2 Stalling problem

Tucker, They were working fine before the mechanic worked on the boat. Come to think about it they replaced the primer bulbs could they have disconnected or broke it then? Is it simply a wire from the fuel line to the gage to get the reading? John

    Yamaha SS 2 Stalling problem

Hey everyone, engines are finally fixed. I had the boat shipped to a marina about 50 miles away. They changed the VST filters the boat would only run up to 4000 rpms then stall out. They replaced the 3 fuel pumps on each engine and that solved the problem. I did notice while running it home...

    Yamaha SS 2 Stalling problem

Ok I drained the tank (VST?) on the port side of the engine there is a brass flat head screw there. Gas oil mixture seemed clear with no water present. I have been using marine gas only. The last purchase in May of this year was supposively non ethanol fuel. I have recently heard through the...

    Yamaha SS 2 Stalling problem

Tucker, The on-board fuel filter and bowl has been the easiest thing to replace as I have had them on and off about 10 times checking them & draining them. The VST sounds like a big job based on what I saw on line last night. I was told not to use the Racor filters with the clear bottoms in...

    Yamaha SS 2 Stalling problem

Hey Guys, I was running my GW marlin a month ago and decided to switch from the main gas tank to the Aux. gas tank. The boat went a mile and died. I switched back to the main but still needed a tow to get in. Upon inspection of the fuel water separators I noticed some water. I bought every...

    Grady White Marlin 2000

Tucker, I don't run tabs other than slogging into a head sea. When running parallel to a 3 ft. or so chop I trim the outboards up quite a bit because a wave will catch the bow and push it giving the boat an uneasy feeling. I don't know if that's what your asking by "Bow Heavy". John
