2005 Grady White 282 Sailfish must sell asap!

Statement from local technician- On the starboard engine, on the back side of the starboard thermostat housing, a hole corroded through the block. The location resides in a valley in the block that sprays directly upward into the electrical components the engine relies on to run. Due to the amount of corrosion build up over time, when an initial weld was made, the corroded housing caved in, which created a larger hole. The welder attempted to clean the hole and weld a plate to close the hole. After reinstalling the components that were removed to obtain access to make the repair, on first start up another hole busted through again spraying saltwater. Without removing components again cannot confirm whether the hole is through the weld or below it farther down on the block itself. However, as corroded as the block was initially, the hole has probably gone farther into the valley making it extremely difficult to repair. The block cannot be built onto with welds any further or it would prevent the re-installment of the engine components. The block could possibly be repaired, but the most efficient and reliable option would be purchasing a short block and moving over the components.
