I don't use Teflon tape on gasoline fittings. I use a gasoline approved paste. It's not that the tape gets dissolved as best I know but rather that the fittings can loosen up due to vibration.

I am sorry for even suggesting you used the wrong stuff. I should have known better

Thanks for the info on the other threads. I did the same and am very happy getting the direct replacements. The others had be banging my head!!!
