Hi all, I got a new to me Grady a couple months ago and am fishing out of Morro Bay, CA. Was wondering if anyone here is local to me.

Jake

I'm north of you in Santa Cruz, might be interested in swapping fishing trips. I here the vermiliion fishing is good down there. I can put you on halibut, rock fish, ling cod, crab, salmon (if they give us a season). Working on albacore and bluefin.

I'd check the regional forums below on the main page. Might get more action there.

I'm in Cambria right now, little mini vacation with my wife. Love the area and when rockfish opens I might pull my Grady down to Morro Bay and try my luck for a few days.

How and the Hell do post this Krap ? I was trying to answer the Moro Bay Jake and

Hang tight For Long Fins.

You can not even imagine what fishing was like in the day
We where Pros for the Central Coast. Been hard for me to contact you, Wife of 52 years just passed. She was a Pro also . Charlie was a Abb diver when we started. Wife and I went to CF and Deck Officers. All 3 of us have 70 years each. I bought a 30 Marlin for the late summer Alby,s hoping my wife could get a trip or two in.. and we can find then !! along with everything else. I'm doing a major up date on the Marlin, it has less than 200 hours. found in a barn. The Mellow boy and Billy boy are done. No live Bait, but I will show you how to get around it.. I worked on Lampra nets when I was young.
The delta was my wife and I favorite.
Hang tight,

You can call me easier for me.

I'm about 20 miles north of Morro Bay right now and I've seen 4 fishing boats up here. I'm not sure, but I think the closest boat ramp is Morro Bay, right? Do boats come up here to fish because there is less pressure or what? I'm completely clueless about fishing out of Morro Bay but would like to learn. We've really enjoyed our little vacation down to the Cambria area.

You are at the beginning of a very productive fishing grounds. San Simeon is the main anchorage before heading up. In the day 100 plus trollers would be there with smoke in the stacks ready to go. It Would be Like ants heading up. You would 3 bucks a pound for troll caught, one year we got 7 bucks a pound !! We worked tell we dropped.

Ramp in MB. Lift at Port San Luis.

You have the banks and look an you see the fingers coming from the depths. Which upwells the good food up. Long Fin Heaven. During the 90s I was contracted for Scripps for the study of the Central coast oil. , servicing data buoys, towing them when the broke free, I did Drifters and traveled 200 miles a trip an all was timed. I had a very Fast Radon, not a good hull for the area but speed I needed. I even towed the Coast Guard 3 times and was paid fast. Told it was my taxpayer rebate1
I have whale skull and spine in my yard I brought up.

I brought a perfect, documented 1400 century Chinese pot, form the time of the treasure ships. this means so much to me. I need a home for it any Ideas??

I paid very close attention and still in contact with the Lads from Scripps.

Here is a fun thing for the family. The is a WWII wreck by a Japanese Sub out of Cambria. Few miles off shore, It was a tanker. The bay in Cambria is a nice Lunch Spot only, Not a anchorage. There are some good fish spots there plus just beautiful area. There also a lot of tar pits around. spewing good stuff up. Dead of winter and bring up some Salmon.

I'm a very firm believer educating yourself of the sea. Get a Coast Piolt 7, or down load , besides of guiding you up this Magnificat water way. then I will not have to remember you and the boat on the bottom. Believe me I know quiet a few lying underwater. Weather can turn, so Safety is the word., Just be smart, take Boating classes.

When those buoys broke it was usually 20 foot sells and 40 knot winds, so much fun after 30 hours.
I got Charlie back in the saddle and we will be ready late summer. I have a lot of problems that a ton of long fins can Only. cure. You can call us. I have a lot of stuff for the Marlin.
