Google Ads

I also just donated.
These Ads are killing me!

Thank you for what you do for all of us.
Much appreciated and hopefully you'll get a few $ from all of us active Users.

Just donated. Love the site.

I would suggest seeing if there is a way to tone down the ads to a degree. They were way too intrusive, coming up almost between every real post. If this continues, there is a great danger in losing members, and driving away potential new ones.

There has to be a better balance to display some ads without them being so over the top.

Isn't the site ad free with any donation?

Thank you for the donation Kirk! The ads have been removed for your account.

Done! Thank you for the great site. I’ve been a greatgrady captain for many years. Glad to help keep it going!

Hello All,

After 20 years of being Google ad free, I've have finally activated Google Ads on the website to help generate revenue. Visitors and members will see the ads during their visit, but for members who donate to the site in any amount, ads will not display for them. Thank you for your understanding!

Wow, trying to use this forum without an ad blocker is damn near cancer when some of the more malicious Google ads get in the rotation.

Thankfully Google is pretty quick at taking them down, but just tried to research the forum via my phone and I barely could find the actual site content.

I hope the Admins are getting well compensated, as any newbies to this forum will probably be driven away.

Donated yesterday. This site is great!
Not disagreeing with the content nor the people, just advising on how off putting it is trying to navigate as a new person (when on mobile) - the site via computer is pretty tolerable once you collapse the full page ads.

I’m currently unable to donate due to finances. A family event happened so I’m now the owner of my Dad’s Islander. So I’ve been trying to get up to speed and restore the boat, as able. Most of my monies have been directed to that purpose.
