Haven't posted to the thread here for awhile but have been fishing off and on most of the last couple months with some mixed results. The kings were in pretty nicely this year and pretty much every time I went out, I'd get some fish. The silvers though were very late this year, I think because we haven't really had any rain since practically mid to late June. I guess this June we had about double the average rainfall that we typically get for the month and basically nothing since then, which I think kept the silvers out in the open ocean for a bit longer than normal. A little frustrating as I kept seeing "memories" pop up on my facebook page over the years of me catching silvers in mid to late August and so forth. But it seems like they're definitely in now as I went out yesterday morning and limited out in probably 90 minutes or so. The last two times that I went out I caught two silvers that were both 25" long, which is over the minimum size for catching a king at 22", which is a pretty decent size for a silver. Anyway, hope everyone else out there has been having tight lines as well.

Well done, now you need to get out and chase some albacore. There would be some trailering involved but you would enjoy a trip to Westport. We put 33 albacore on my 228 out of Garibaldi 2 days ago. Good work and glad you are getting after the salmon.

I've always wanted to go tuna fishing at Westport but have never actually been there before and have heard lots of horror stories about the bar crossing at Westport. Not that the boat, or even myself couldn't do it, I'd just want someone to be on board with me that had some experience doing the bar crossing. My buddy was actually just in Westport doing some tuna fishing over Labor Day weekend but I guess the weather was so bad that they only got I believe 18-19 tuna between the 6 or 7 of them. I guess the winds and tides were just ripping and the charter captain that they went out with said it was definitely one of the nastier days that he'd seen before. Also, does tuna fishing require outriggers?

Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing!
You're very welcome. I always enjoy showing what I've caught and compare it to elsewhere throughout the country as we have very different fishing out here in the PNW/Puget Sound as opposed to the east coast and so forth.
